  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

But now that i have a bit of experience under my belt, I am slowly realizing how the little ones manipulate their world...even at 5yrs old!

That is sooo truthful! I've been reading a book that covers a bit of separation anxiety with two year olds, and the behavior that is labeled "terrible twos". So interesting to learn how the human psyche works and how people learn to detach from their parents.

I think we often have a lot to learn from our kids!

Happy Weekend to all the SAHMs!

I like the idea, but I have 3 books floating around right now! LOL!

Maybe we could mini-club a book here. Did you have something in mind?

Any good ones out there for SAHM's....or should it just be fun to give our brains a vacation?

One of the books a friend of mine and I may do in a few months is "Brushstroke Legacy" by Lauraine Snelling. She writes faith-based fiction, usually about women in past times who make hard decisions through God. If you can find it, or come accross it, it will be a while before we start. I'd be happy to mini-club it with you or anyone else on this thread who wants to.

I'm open to other books too. (seriously I read almost everything).

Hehehe....I think that is one of the Great Unknown's of this thread!

I realized as I was looking at the book ideas people have had (and are there some on the Older-Mother-club-house thread too going on?) that we all have different access to different types of books stores and materials.

I don't even know if Lauraine Snelling is being sold outside of the upper mid-west.

We'll have to see what happens.

I was just clearing out a cubby of books this morning (I have a lot of books around) to bring past-read ones to a donation place. I came across a Sister Chick book (a series by Robin Jones Gunn) I read. It's "Sister Chicks say Ooh La La!" and I read the "Down Under" one a couple of years ago. I don't think I've read any of the other ones in the set....there is supposed to be a few.

It is light, easy to read, Christian girly-fiction.

The inside cover of the one I have says there is also,

"Sisterchicks Do the Hula"
"Sisterchicks on the Loose"
"Sisterchicks in Sombreros"

They are sold pretty much nationally in both Christian book stores, and main Chain stores (Barnes and Noble, Boarders, etc.)....and I have seen a few at libraries too.

Just thought I'd throw that one out there too, in case there are some titles that might be interresting to anyone here. (Again, I read everything, so no pressure here).
