So, is the end of March in the Northeastern part of the US a bad time of the year to have a children's party outside? I was thinking about having my son's 4th birthday on a local farm with a petting zoo and a horse ride but sometimes that time of year can be a bit cold.

well, not only can it be cold, but if it's warm, it can be quite messy with all the mud from melting snow and ice.
but if you plan ahead and ask everyone to dress appropriately, it might be fun!

Hi marezee, I decided against it as he's only 4 and I think it would be better when he's a bit older and can be a bit sturdier in (as you said) muddy grounds. Buuut, I know this lovely lady who my son takes a local Waldorf homeschooling class with who also does birthday parties. She's offering me a discount since my son is enrolled in her program and she's going to do his party at our home. I'm very excited for it and for my family and friends to learn more about the class he attends. We're going with a dragon and wild beasts theme.

I don't know. We had our daughters party last year at home (she is a June "baby") which is the middle of our Winter lol. It was the most amazing beautiful sunny day we had all Winter, because the day after and for weeks on end after it was cold windy and sometimes (but not enough) wet.

We were so blessed with a beautiful sunny day outside lol, they didn't need to be cooped up inside so it was wonderful.

Yes I am a SAHM now since my son was born 3,5 yrs ago.. I did work on/off for awhile but the stress and all what I went through was just enough and having PTSD stress doesnt do well for me, even now.. I am thinking about working some but I also want a 2nd child so that'll take some time up there, even though I'm already busy

I dont miss socialization at all.. Done to many years of socialization that I barly got to know hardly anyone including church folks whom I attended near 10 yrs.. They would just ignore me and thats that, nothing major or big,so I cut out socializing pretty fast before I got married...

Homeschooling is OUT I dont think I'd have the paitence to try.. I am thinkin about it,but I think the school system I can give it a try and see if my son can do well in it or not..
