Thanks for the video. I agree there is evidence that animal species evolve. I am not convinced the same is true for human beings. Also, it is illogical in my view to assume that life did not come from God. Everything on this planet was obviously created by Him.
So does every other living creature.
Please tell me what they evolve from.
If God used "natural forces" to create the world and humans in a process that took millions of years, why would He tell us He created us in 6 days? Who said the Bible is a science textbook?I just watched part 1 and am on part 2. It's a well-done series of videos, that is both humorous, informative and very correct (not to mention, eye-opening for those with a religious bend on reality).
What does God, or lack of God, have to do with evolution? Who said life didn't come from a higher power we call "God"? Who says that God didn't choose to use natural forces to create the world and humans?
Why is the bible suddenly a science textbook? A very inaccurate one, at that?

Show me an animal which can speak and create things. Then we'll talk.

I have no reason to assume that the author of Genesis went along with "the standard 6 day creation myth", and that God didn't inspire Him, like He inspired all the other authors of the Bible. You are assuming God told you he created the world in 6 days. I suppose that's the danger of believing the bible is the literal word of God. One must consider that that author of genesis had no idea what evolution was so he just went with the standard 6 day creation myth.
I believe everything in the Bible is important.
You have a point, here. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night". The period of darkness and light could have been longer than a day, since both in the Old and New Testament, a day would not necessarily = 24 hours.Think of it this way. Prior to the creation of the Sun, how long did a day take? Beyond that, how long does He mean when He says day?
I don't know if people could not understand "billions of years". People evidently could grasp the concept of "eternity", so I don't see why "billions of years" would be impossible for God to state.Could it be He was giving people who would have no concept of science something to relate to when it came to creation? We could easily understand six days. We could not really have understood billions of years.

Billions of years are billions of years. Eternity is eternity. The word "eternity" is found in the Old Testament. If it was beyond people's comprehension, why would God have inspired the writers to include it?Can you? Can you really understand billions of years right now? Can you really understand eternity?

Perhaps you may be right, we can neither visualize eternity or a billion years. Yet in spite of this, God used the word "eternity" in the Bible. If He did so, I don't see why He wouldn't use "a billion years".I don't think people, even today, can really visualize a billion years.
We certainly cannot fully understand eternity. We can know what it means but we can't really comprehend something without beginning or without end. It's beyond us.
When describing it to people who wouldn't even have a basic idea of the world around them, much less the cosmos, how best to explain what happened?
When you tell your child about death or sex or whatever, do you give them the full clinical details of it or do you give them an example they could understand?
