I don't believe that the church is Israel.

I don't believe the church is under the law.

But I do believe that Christ is in all the Scriptures and that in the Old Testament there are wonderful applications to the church, even if the primary entity in view is Israel in the Old Testament, not the church as the revealed mystery that Ephesians and other New Testament passages bring out.

“Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:” 1 Corinthians 10.32

I think it's good just to explain briefly from Scripture what one means by terms that are used; because one person might use a term in a completely different way from another person.

You see to me that just says try to live at peace with everyone. Build bridges, preach the word.

It also refers to three distinct groups of people. Jews, to whom the oracles of God were originally committed and through whom the Messiah came into the world but who needed to come to terms by faith with the Scriptural heritage; Gentiles not under the law but who need more enlightening than the Jews originally did; and the church of God comprised of both people from a Jewish and Gentile background.

I agree.

I think that there's a literal Israel but also a Spiritual Israel that encompasses the OT believers.

Should or do? I do, and am hungry more and more for God's Kingdom every day and thirsty for God's Righteousness!
When I meet in person or on the phone with another Christian abiding in Jesus , we can talk /(fellowship)/ for hours and hours, being refreshed by Jesus and each other's testimony, even 10 hours or longer without stopping and without feeling like so much time has passed (it feels only like 30 minutes!).

Reminds me of Psalm 63: 'My soul thirsteth for Thee, in a dry and thirsty land where no water is'.

Well, Paul says in Romans that those who love and trust the Lord Jesus and by repentance have experiences the circumcision of the heart, are Jews inwardly.

To whom is the prophet Malachi speaking here? The entire chapter is directed to the Levitical priests (not the Church) and they were being reproved for their impiety. How do you apply this to the Church today?

1 Peter 2:5-9

It would seem that in the new testament, the priesthood is Us. So the chapter may very well be applicable, in both it's warnings and it's blessings.

(5) "You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ"

(9) But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Good verses; interestingly, Hebrews 7.12 indicates that since Old Testament times the priesthood and the law was changed; and Hebrews 7.19 indicates that what the New Testament believer now has is 'better' than the law.

Absolutely; in times of apostasy, the general principle of the faithfulness of the pilgrim remnant is so important.

In short, the message of Malachi is so relevant for God's pilgrim people today.

@Made2Worship89 I think Malachi 3.16 is very applicable to Christians who need to stick together for fellowship!
