Reading Malachi today. As i read the first chapter i am struck with the notion that God wants all of us, not part of us, he wants us to not store wealth and live in luxury, but instead to give it to the poor and to trust Him to supply our daily needs, i.e. to walk by faith not sight. But this is just a thought i had, it could be wrong.
I notice that the Priests ask God how they defiled Him or despised Him. Christ also records men who ask a similar question to Him. Very interesting observation. Also notable is the fact that we are a Royal nation of priests according to Peter.
Malachi 1:To you priests who despise My name.
Yet you say, ‘In what way have we despised Your name?’
‘In what way have we defiled You?’
By saying,
You also say,
‘Oh, what a weariness!’
14 “But cursed be the deceiver
Who has in his flock a male,
And takes a vow,
But sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished—
For I am a great King,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“And My name is to be feared among the nations.
Mathew 25:44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
