I'll agree that they're not good, context being important, but they do have value. Look for all that she wrote on a particular topic. That is the point I believe.

But you changed what I said. That's WAY different than taking something out of context. Look, I agree, context is ALL important. But frankly, if I am looking for light on a topic I would really rather not have to search through every book from the most published female author in the history of literature.........

How do you know they didn't change what she has written? Some have suggested that they have.... some even have documents to prove that changes have occurred.... The question is why...

Compilations are NOT good....

I would not go so far, but I will note that the compilation is the product of the mind of the compiler, not of the original author.

You can't.... I may..... as I stated before.... compilations... not good... I suspect they have changed a lot more than people realize....

What you assume is the original context... it is said that the older editions of The Great Controversy are slightly different than the newer editions..... Having said that I understand your point....

LOL. Well. Fair enough. Let's just say that this seems to be a good way of avoiding the "out-of-context-blues". I know it works every time because I am rarely "flagged" for using things in the wrong context.

Did anyone who saw the movie notice that during the tribulation cabs were running, electricity was on, planes were flying?

I turned to my wife and said, "Gee. This tribulation thingy doesn't seem so bad."

It is well worth the price for anyone interested in the writings of EGW regardless of the reason,

It seems that many of her writings were compiled even while she was still alive,

Using the search tool, you will find that what she wrote in one place is repeated word for word in sometimes up to 20 different places in the writings,

Hi Tim--I have not read the Left Behind books. I have however seen a movie on one of the religious stations based on the books. I have to say that I laughed thru most of it--nothing in it came remotely close to the bible model of end time events. I do know that they claim that their interpretation is based on Dan. 9. , but unfortunately they MISinterpret that prophecy. I can see why the SOP said that nothing of a theatrical nature should come into the gospel work.

It has been along time since I read the first book, But if I remember one of the things they pointed out was all the accidents that happened because transport operators of every stripe were raptured,
