I am more than sorry if I have shown strictness or unkindness. All of this has me quite confused because I don't really know what I have done to warrant anything.
But I apologise to all of you if I have been too heavy handed.
I also been a mod on other Forums and have never been accused of being heavy handed.
But, If I have here, I am sorry.
I am doing this off my own bat, nobody has asked me to. But, I am very, very confused. However, please accept my apologies.

I'm not sure which moderators this thread is in reference to, but
I just wanted you to know that we love you Erwin. You have always been devoted to CF since the very beginning of its creation 3 years ago; always fair and always considerate. I hope and pray that CF will continue to be a home that we can all come back to--even 10 years down the road.

Blessings,

-Davide

i had to come back and say the more moderators that have jumped on this thread to say "sorry" is really nice. i appreciate this place and that you volunteer your time. i appreciate that you would take time to re-evaluate attitudes and practices.

i have had a confusing exsperiance with a moderator that was never resolved. i let it go, after trying to bring it to attention (to even that moderator's leader), and was forgotton or ignored. i thought maybe staff was too busy and it was stupid in comparison to your daily duties. that hurt.

i have seen staff break rules themselves. like debating and attacking people's opinions and beliefs on polling threads (in official polls). and getting personally involved in someone's life; and then abusing the rules of sending condeming/ or person attacks on the member... through personal beliefs and comments on people's lives that really are taken hard by individuals that are needy and lack the ability to stand up for themselves.

through all of this i have seen many compasionate moderators and encouragements. i have met moderators that are really caring. i really appreciate some moderators that are very firm with the rules that are important for the peace of CF members. i have seen people get "introuble" then be treated in ways that encourage them to move on after their error... (new chance attitude) and that is nice. i see moderators that try to understand where people are coming from on posts instead of being critical and preachy.

we are all one big family ... this forum is really encouraging in that. i know that Glorifies God.

~~God bless you Erwin!~~

I think the mods do a great job! It's a very difficult and time consuming and basically thankless job! CF could not exist without them. The only difference between a mod and a regular member is mods have tons of work to do and don't have the luxury of casually reading a thread. They must always be on the lookout for something that is offensive or otherwise breaks the rules.

The desire of a good mod is to keep the peace. To quote an ex-mod I adore, sometimes it's good to "nip it in the bud", and not wait til things get out of hand.

I admit I don't know what has happened. Even so, I trust the mods are doing their best, trying to keep CF the great place it has always been.

As the Senior Administrator of Team Peace, I extend apologies, on my behalf and on the behalf of those whom I oversee, to those whom we have offended, intentionally and unintentionally.

I confess to Almighty God,
and to you my brothers and sisters,
that I have sinned through my own faults,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and what I have failed to do;
And I ask the Blessed Virgin Mary,
and all the angels and saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.

May Almighty God have mercy on us,
forgive us our sins,
and bring us to everlasting life.

Amen.

In my book, all of CF's moderators are "good ones". Especially when you get to really know them, their lives and their desire to love and serve God. If fault is to be given, then put it at the feet of the Administrators and Senior Administrators who are responsible for overseeing the CF Moderators and Senior Moderators, their training and their actions.

I must say, the moderators that have come in here and offered their personal apologies, even if they haven't done anything that I know of to offend anyone, are some of the good ones out there.

It is a thankless job. I just want to say "thaniks" for a job well done. May God ever guide you in everything you do.

As someone who has, more than once, demonstrated a cynicism for the atmosphere and binds of the forum, I want to thank you Erwin, for looking into these changes in order to improve what can be often frustrating for many members. And to all the mods who have posted: Apology accepted.

I guess we disagree there. I think that people can be polite without the "proper training."

The problems Erwin will be addressing go beyond "being polite" towards others. Admins and mods are not here to be merely polite - they are here to lead, guide and help, and one needs training doing that in a fair way!

Oh, I understand that. But that part would be taken care of, as nyj mentioned, by the training.

I was responding to his point about all mods being good just untrained.

the mods need to be able to do their Job without so many restrictions, they need to be strict, more so than ever before

Honestly, I don't think that was the problem...

Thank you Erwin . .

Are the actions taken against us going to be reversed and our records cleared?

As of today, it is still happening.

Thank you again. I have had serous concerns about this and have almost left CF over this issue, and have been very vocal about them in the appeals forums. I know you are very busy, but it would be appreciated if you could look at my appeals.

Thank you

Not to argue theology, but rather clarify my comments, since we are all made in His image, I believe we're all inherently good. I do think that each and every moderator has their heart in the proper place.
