Prophetic practice thread

I felt the need to evaluate this prophecy in terms of Paul's teaching in ICorinthians14, because initially I felt that to give a pure prophecy, one has to completely divorce oneself from personal viewpoints and opinions, and not use the gift of prophecy to give God's authority to what could be just the person's own views.

God speaks in many different ways, and the prophetic gift is one way that God expresses His love to the saints. To give an authoritative word of prophecy, in the first person thereby making the speaker the mouthpiece of God, and to give a word that is doubtful is an unwise thing to do.

But then that was just my opinion. In the mouth of two or three witnesses should every word be established. I think it would be important for others who are used in the prophetic gifts post their comments as well to either confirm or deny the appropriateness of the prophecy

I have edited this post since I first wrote it because I can see that others have interpreted this word differently to me. They have witnessed to it in a positive way. To me, that is the evidence that the word is indeed prophetic, and it has the capacity in the Spirit to minister to others.

Its amazing how one word people may not agree with, or get something from it that is completely different than what another person did. I can see where you are comming from Oscarr however I saw something completely different in this word

I saw this, as a reminder for those of us and we know who we are to stop striving, and that there is nothing we can do to make Him love us more or less.

Most importantly to take our value and worth from Christ, because prophets will used in mightly ways by God, they will always be human and inherently fallible, and there will be times that they don't get it right, which can lead to people getting hurt and wounded. where as God is not like that. He is God, and not a fallible human being and as it says in his word, He will never leave us or forsake us. He will put us through the refiners fire at times, and it will be painful, however at the other end, we come out a much more whole human being

Hidding behind the Bible !!

Throughout our lives we all have hidden behind many things. Some hide behind money, searching for happiness, only to have a thirst that cannot be quenched. The more we make the more we seem to need. Leading to heavy financial burdens that make us slaves to our labors, leaving little time for ourselves or our loved ones.
Some of us hide behind the Love of others, putting our entire trust in others. which in the beginning, what seems comforting leads to disappointment in the end.
Some of us hide behind drugs and achohol. And that which in the beginning masks the pains within ones self can lead to a greater pain within . That of addiction. And that which masked the pain in the beginning will magnify the pain in the end.
Some of us hide behind nothing at all. We put all our trust in ourselves. Only to find out there are those things as our health and the actions of others that we have no control of.
All of us have hid behind at least one of the above. And many of us have hidden behind all the above at some point of our lives.
Some have found a better way, by hiding behind a book. This special book contains the very Words of God.
The Bible has every answer you have ever wondered. Its words can guide you through the greatest of troubles. it will explain and guide you in all matters and lead you to blessings that no one can take from you. It will lead you to a balance of work and family. It will teach you how to love everyone around you and to accept them as they are, avoiding disappointment. It will heal your pains as a salve upon a sore. It will teach and guide you to accept or overcome all things.
As you fall into love with the true author you will enjoy a peace within as you have never known. and in times of trouble, of sadness, of heartache, you will hide behind the very words of our Godthe Bible.
His Words will comfort you as a mother, stand beside you as a friend, heal you as a physician, guide you as a father.
And above all will lead you to a peace within that is far beyound definition .

Each ministry gift (such as apostle) has sign gifts that indicate what the ministry is.
For instance, Paul said "the signs of an apostle were display among you in signs, wonders, and mighty deeds.."
These are these signs of an apostle.'
The signs of a prophet include prophesy with other revelation gifts (word of wisdom and word of knowledge or discerning of spirits).
I have Word of Wisdom but not (Charismatic) or Word of Knowledge.

Hey brother....I hope to only encourage you....thanks for your attempt....it takes some courage and faith. God honours that no matter the outcome. Though it didn't seem to minister to me, I see the word has blessed a few people...so there you go!

Running after prophets.

My people are running after prophets.
They desire from them a vision.
They scour the earth for a word.

In the ancient times I sent prophets into the world because the hearts of men were darkened. And those prophets spoke words hard to discern and in shadowy shapes. And still they heard and believed, I accomplished my will in them, and they were found acceptable in it. In many other ways I spoke to that people.

Today, you are my people... and know that this is the day of the Son.
When I came into the world a new language and medium of communication was introduced. My Father is speaking to you in the language of Son. I have bred into each and all of those who are mine ears to hear my voice. I have sent the Spirit into the world to teach you the vocabulary of the Son. My words are in you and as they abide in you they are your guide and they are the voice of the Father in your life. This is the voice of the shepard that the sheep will know.
Yes, I have sent prophets and I will send more. Their words will echo the words of the shepard, and if they speak my words you will have witness of them and they will bare witness to the words I have spoken into you. But my words alive in you now. Look to your heats for my voice. That is where I live.

This means alot to me, and brings many scriptures flooding into my heart. The Son dwelling in our hearts by faith.

I have been prophesying for 36 years... and have taught thousands of people how to release this ability into their lives.

As people move in these things you tend to see how waves move through a fellowship. One person begins with a flow, and then another person will continue and echo the same drink, and then another and another...
So I was not surprized when I read your post and was immediately caught up in the same flow that was present yesterday.

I operate in this gift and I do not seek, reather the Lord impresses on me when to give a Word which is one reason I very seldom post words on the board. The one I put up the other day was friom God, not me, and for His purposes whether to establish, encourage, for whatever reason, I did pray for this individual and the Word came to me, to me this is normal operation, not seeking to get a word. Can someone explain this to me please.

I think I understand what you are saying. Yesterday I read this prophacy and.....nothing. Like I said in a earlier post..I felt like a stopped up sink. I wasn't in harmony, and I knew it. Nothing was coming forth. I couldn't drum up anything at all that I felt was coming from my spirit. But it took until today, for it to come forth. I do believe that the spirit has timing, for what ever reason, it could have been my pre-occupation with other things, I don't know, or it was necessary to add to it today. I have no idea, but was impressed to add to it.

i wake in the night with songs from the Lord...He has given me over 200...it's nothing i've asked for...but if i don't follow through and write them down...practice it on my guitar, i feel like i am going to burst....and i feel incomplete.
i guess we are just blessed with some gifts...snd should thank him for allowing us to be used in this way. And others may have another gift...but desire this one also...so God gives it to them. All is for His glory.

This speaks to me...
That God is doing the same things...
but in a different way, for a different time and season.
And that God is speaking to us in the Spirit
by the Spirit...regardless of the delivery system.

I have had the same type of thing happen to me many times. I cannot play the guitar yet, but God gives me the words and the melody and I write it down. I know it is not from my own mind because I cannot write so well when I try to think something up on my own.

you need to write ALL of them down girl! I am working on a devotional to share prophetic songs that the lord has been giving me with others. They are to magnify him and you would be surprised at the person needing just the one God gave you a few nights ago! lol Please do not waste such a blessing that God has put on your heart. Sing Zion sing it says in psalms. I pray that the Lord would bring you to that place of calm to take a moment out of each day and write down the precious songs He stirs in you, that you may deliver them to the ones that need to hear.

God will give you an avenue to glorify him with these songs.

A really good example of prophetic poetry. Follows the example of the Psalms. You could almost call this a contemporary Psalm.
