Prophetic practice thread

This is a wonderful thread and I pray it remains positive and people don't come here and argue.

This will be great to help us with stepping out. My problem is I am uncomfortable to say "thus saith the Lord" - I hear some words many times and will speak them out, but say I don't know if this is from me or from the Holy Spirit.

My friend is always encouraging me to speak it out - but I am so afraid of calling it wrong.

Those who give prophesies all the time, were you always confident that it was from the Holy Spirit?

It is not needful to start what you have with "thus saith the Lord".

Give what you have and let those who receive it confirm it was from the Lord.

Running after prophets.

I felt the need to evaluate this prophecy in terms of Paul's teaching in ICorinthians14, because initially I felt that to give a pure prophecy, one has to completely divorce oneself from personal viewpoints and opinions, and not use the gift of prophecy to give God's authority to what could be just the person's own views.

God speaks in many different ways, and the prophetic gift is one way that God expresses His love to the saints. To give an authoritative word of prophecy, in the first person thereby making the speaker the mouthpiece of God, and to give a word that is doubtful is an unwise thing to do.

But then that was just my opinion. In the mouth of two or three witnesses should every word be established. I think it would be important for others who are used in the prophetic gifts post their comments as well to either confirm or deny the appropriateness of the prophecy

I have edited this post since I first wrote it because I can see that others have interpreted this word differently to me. They have witnessed to it in a positive way. To me, that is the evidence that the word is indeed prophetic, and it has the capacity in the Spirit to minister to others.

The ways of the Lord are known to those who are close to Him. Giving up your own life leads to finding life in Him. Dying to yourself and the things you think are important in life opens up a new life in Him that makes the former things seem worthless by comparison. The Lord has come to give you life and life more abundantly. To enter into that abundant life, your life must be lost in His life in you. He has put the Spirit of adoption in you so that having the revelation knowledge that you are really His child, you can cry from your heart, "My Father, my Father."

God's grace is sufficient for you. You do not have to do activities and procedures to make yourself more acceptable to God than what you have already done when you gave your life to Christ. The eyes of the Lord are on your heart. Does it not say that His Spirit searches the hearts of people and sees quite clearly the good and the evil in them. Has He not searched your heart and found it a heart that is seeking after Him. Does He not hear and take remembrance of your prayers? He takes your prayers and stores them up in the storehouse of His memory. He never forgets the prayers of those who pray to Him in truth and openness.

I saw this, as a reminder for those of us and we know who we are to stop striving, and that there is nothing we can do to make Him love us more or less.

Most importantly to take our avlue and worth from Christ, because prophets will always be human and inherantly fallible, and there will be times that they dont get it right, where as God is not like that. He is God, and not a fallible human beingt.

Most importantly to take our value and worth from Christ, because prophets will used in mightly ways by God, they will always be human and inherently fallible, and there will be times that they don't get it right, which can lead to people getting hurt and wounded. where as God is not like that. He is God, and not a fallible human being and as it says in his word, He will never leave us or forsake us. He will put us through the refiners fire at times, and it will be painful, however at the other end, we come out a much more whole human being

Now that's interesting. Because you were able to identify with parts of that prophecy, it shows that those parts of it were truly prophetic and you could hear the voice of the Spirit in it.

This shows exactly why prophecies should be judged. I judged the prophecy one way, and you judged it another. This is Paul's ICorinthians14 teaching working the way it should be.

This is also why there should be more than one person judging prophecies, because we all have ways of looking at the same event, and two or three opinions brings balance to any judgement of prophecy.

This is a beautiful word and it ministers to me.
It is true, it is easier to go to people who have the gift of prophecy or are prophets themselves, to hear the guidance and direction of our Father. But we ourselves have been given ears to hear, and today all we have to do is draw near to the Son Jesus Christ to hear what the Spirit speaks in the quiet of our souls. There is no need to run after prophets, because the Lord has sent us His Spirit to speak to us personally. And He wants to speak to us so much! If only we would turn our ears to listen to what He has to say! But unfortunatly, not everyone turns their ear to listen to the Spirit. That is why we still need the gift of prophecy and the prophets in the Body of Christ, to encourage those who need it to draw close to the Father as they once did.

All that can be moved.

The most powerful nations on earth.

Why? so many ask.
Why so many scattered.

Those scattered know the answer.
They could have spent a life time.

But now they have seen the truth.
They have seen the hands of Love.
The hands that gave them food.
The hands that gave them water.
The hands that reached to them in their time of need.
Was the hands of Love.

Love of Churches.
The Love of the unseen.
Unseen armies of Love, Compassion,Kindness
Ask those who are scattered.
What is most important to them?
Now that their world has been shaken.
Before it was their homes.
Before it was their jobs.

A tear will come to their eyes.

Indeed. It was from the midst of that logos that the rhema was birthed. Long hours studying the place of Christ as our voice to be heard. The phase "spoken to us in Son" has stuck with me for many years. It has been the driving logos behind many prophesies, teachings, and psalms.

It is true, it is easier to go to people who have the gift of prophecy or are prophets themselves, to hear the guidance and direction of our Father. But we ourselves have been given ears to hear, and today all we have to do is draw near to the Son Jesus Christ to hear what the Spirit speaks in the quiet of our souls. There is no need to run after prophets, because the Lord has sent us His Spirit to speak to us personally. And He wants to speak to us so much! If only we would turn our ears to listen to what He has to say! But unfortunatly, not everyone turns their ear to listen to the Spirit. That is why we still need the gift of prophecy and the prophets in the Body of Christ, to encourage those who need it to draw close to the Father as they once did.
