"Securing the border through these negotiations is a win for America," Biden said in his Friday statement. "For everyone who is demanding tougher border control, this is the way to do it. If you’re serious about the border crisis, pass a bipartisan bill and I will sign it."

Interesting. First of all since the Speaker of the House has already publicly stated that the Senate bill is dead on arrival. But mostly because the Biden administration has claimed the border is safe, secure, and closed.

If the Senate believes the border is safe, secure, and closed, what is all the recent hollering about?

I remember 50 years ago people screaming about the border being a crisis and the crossings. The screaming has not stopped since. People have likely been screaming about it for longer than that. No president has done much about it but scream along on occasion. It is all political posturing while they and Congress have little to no intention of "doing" anything substantial.

This is a Joe Biden made international disaster, with unprecedented volumes of people that Joe told to come. It's like blaming Putin's attack on Ukraine by saying there have always been wars rather than hold Joe accountable for his gaffe that was the catalyst. In the case of the border the Biden administration has been flat out lying to the American people as well, which meant Joe could get away with it for a longer period of time--thinks of how many kids could have been saved from being trafficked had there not been deceit.

Let's see.....

Talk of disaster - check
unprecedented volumes of immigrants - check
lying - check
child trafficking - check
deceit - check
save the children - check

so many appeals to emotion, so little evidence. I conclude this is a well crafted propaganda opinion comment for Trump.

Why is that? Could it be that the Speaker has no interest in helping solve the immigration issue? Or maybe House Republicans won't support any legislation until after the election? Or maybe they are simply incapable of negotiating an agreement with the other side of the aile.

But mostly because the Biden administration has claimed the border is safe, secure, and closed.

Define a border that is :

Safe

Secure

Closed

.....and explain how those goals will be achieved without passing legislation to, for example, revise asylum laws, or provide additional funding for border securty. Only the Congress has that power.

I'm personally sad there's not a mention of military age males. I really thought that phrase would resonate with the marks.

What was this gaffe that Biden needs to be held responsible? (Does he need a gaffe impeachment?) Did he accidentally call Russia "the Soviets" and thus imply that Ukraine was still a legit part of the Moscow regime and provide carte blanche for an aggressive return of Ukraine to the tender embrace of the Kremlin?

Please do specify as no one seems familiar with this "gaffe".

Well there is still the issue of allowing 5,000 entries a day in the latest proposal

What was Biden doing 50 years ago that caused this crisis? It was labeled a crisis then, and labeled a crisis now. So what was he doing at the age of 30 ish that caused a 50-year-long border crisis?

You can say he has not solved the crisis, but neither has any other president since the advent of the issue. They all bluster about it during their campaigns, then do not fulfill their promises once in office.

Additionally, what Exective Order do you want Biden to write to solve this issue as his only real power is EOs? He can beg Congress, as he has been, but if they do not act, he has no power but an EO.

We should be after Congress to fix this issue, as Congress controls the budget and the legislation. However, immigration must not be too big of a concern based on re-election rates. About 90% re-election rate for the Senate and better than 95% for the House since 1988. Americans are clearly quite content with the state of America and its government right now.

"It" from fifty years ago was a different crisis. Today's crisis is cartel-based sex trafficking and drug dealing and slave labor and overrun and overburdened U.S. cities crisis of epic proportions. This is because: 1) Joe Biden urged people to come. 2) Joe and administration officials disobeyed the border laws. 3) Joe got rid of the Trump administration polices, whether E.O. or not.

Joe has taken the money that is supposed to be for border security and used it to process more illegals into the country. He has thwarted efforts to curb the tide, such as not patching holes in the border wall and refusing to sell rusting wall sections to states, vilifying Border patrol agents for "whipping" migrants even when he it was not so, and even cutting wire so more illegals could get in. Joe and Mayorkas betrayed the public and their actions have resulted in more rapes, child trafficking, and deaths by drugs. Their end goal is to get as many in as possible, this would mean more votes and more seats in Congress for Democrats.

Where I lived 50 years ago, these same battle cries were regularly going on. And the Senate and Congress just keep getting re-elected. You would think if the masses were truly worried about immigration, we would have a greater turnover in Congress until we could get the legislative and executive branches to work together for legitimate fear of losing their jobs.

As for Trump and immigration, this screaming point will be solved the same as his last several platform screaming points were solved (the wall, ACA); it won't happen. He had four years to get Mexico to pay for the wall as he promised, and it most likely would have flown through Congress as approved legislation if they did not have to pony up the money for it. He failed to get Mexico to pay for it as promised. This next round of immigration promises will fail just about as quickly IMO.

But never fear, Trump is in the good company of all the Presidents of the last 50 years who have not solved the issue, and the people of the US, as a whole, simply don't care as manifested by the lack of turnover in Congress.

BTW, illegal immigrants cannot vote in State and Federal elections:

Presidential election = Federal election

Senate and Congress = State elections.

Yes that’s true but they will have children who can vote in 18 years. It’s a long term strategy
