  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

joining in prayer for this intention

My heart, says 'something' about

# obeying the commands of the master
(in place 'over you' ) ~that ye not offend the law

# That you fulfill 'your obllgations' ~with your obedience
For you do no wrong, by complying with the law
while it then remains (on your heart) that it is 'wrong' to-do so
and continue your walk, however 'stoney' your path may seem
because The Lord walks 'with you'

# God, 'knows the details'

Life is a struggle, Lord.
Time plays its tricks
on body, mind and spirit.
Simple tasks that in my youth
would have taken minutes
now consume
my waking moments,
exhausting,
frustrating,
depressing.

Life is a struggle, Lord.
Technology confuses,
so little now makes sense.
Age strips the brain of sharpness
that once would have found words
appropriate
but now struggles,
understanding,
responding,
and coping.
Life is a struggle, Lord.
You alone are my constancy,
all I cling to.
Accept my mustard seed of faith,
and the simple words I offer,
my sacrifice of prayer.

'not-nice' for sure, but
it is the path, to clean and healthy living

Blessed are you who live in a world of anxiety,
You shall speak of hope.

Blessed are you who rely less on formal religion,
You shall perceive the sacredness of ordinary life.

Blessed are you who perceive "the silent sigh",
You shall speak for others.

Blessed are you who have resources, experience and confidence,
You shall empower others.

Blessed are you who have been hurt by the church,
YOu shall tend the wounded.

Blessed are you who let go of the old answers,
You are free to ask "What if...?"

Blessed are you who are open to covenant,
God shall walk with you.

We want for nothing
if we listen to our God,
his gentle whisper
breaking through
the storms of life.

We want for nothing
if we rely upon our God,
his grace enough
to bring healing
into broken lives.

We want for nothing
in the service of our God,
in blessing others
through our lives
so we are blessed.

We want for nothing
in the worship of our God,
his Holy Spirit
the comforter
will satisfy our souls.

Hi rebornfree, definitely finish the course! I did an MA as a senior citizen, and it is great...all education is useful to the Lord, the process of learning is good for you and will help in all sorts of ways.
May the presence of the Lord be with you today...

Maybe I didn't make my post clear but there is no question of me not finishing the degree as long as my health holds, but my request is for healing of a long-term health issue which resurfaced this weekend. Thank you all for your prayers.

Congratulations on your MA musicalpilgrim!

I'd appreciate prayer as I have had what I suspect is a spiritual attack over the last few hours, and I feel washed out. Also I am in the last six months of my degree, and am very tired of studying. The material (some of which is not compatible with Christianity) is hard to bear, but I know the Lord wants me to finish the course. Please would you pray that I can feel the Lord's love and guidance.
oops! I got it wrong, thank the Lord that he can interpret our prayers!
I pray earnestly for the Lord's love and guidance for you, for his protection also, may you feel his presence with you today, in Jesus precious name, Amen

Thank you so much for your prayers ladies.:hug: I am feeling better already. As you say musicalpilgrim the Lord can interpret our prayers and I realise that my prayer request could be read as not wanting to continue my degree, and apologise for any confusion. :)

I have numerous prayer requests, please, let me share, I thank you all ahead of time for your prayers:
Let me tell you what has been going on lately:

Steve's (my husband) leg, well, it was hurt very badly in a motorcycle accident when he was 17, he was in the hospital for a year or so, the docs said he would probably have issues with it when he got older, they were right, it started to hurt him a few weeks back after he had ridden his bike for a long stretch, it has gotten worse since . He went to the doctor and they scheduled an x-ray. Well, Steve was still having bad pain in his leg, he got the x-ray 4 days after the doctor visit, and they told him it would be a week or longer before someone could read it, this is bull, I know darn well that they have radiologists on staff to read them. I told Steve I think because we don't pay, they don't care and they do the "private" ones first, the paying ones in other words. He is almost to the point where he can't walk well, and the area is looking bad, it is reddish and bluish and not even a feather can touch it without it hurting him badly. I think that somehow that bone graft has broken again, or there could be a blood clot in the area, we just don't know, and with the doctors and radiologist dragging their butt, we won't know until who knows when. He called the doctor back this morning and said how bad it was hurting, but, he still has not heard anything. This really stinks.

Needless to say, I won't be returning home as planned in January, it all depends on when Steve is well again, it could be anywhere from a month to 4 months, it depends on what they have to do. He is upset as he wants me back there to get his green card info, etc. I told him it will wait. We decided that I should probably purchase it to return in July, as long as I buy it before January 18, I can get the low prices for any month up to the end of July.

I have been looking for work EVERYWHERE and there is not one opening anywhere, I have even looked in places that I would not normally look, but nope, NOTHING. We also have been looking for housing, and again, nothing, most won't let our dogs in and confound it, I am not going anywhere without them, they are my medicine, so-to-speak. Most places are so crappy, I would not want them to live in them anyway, and the prices, MERY!!!!!!. We have contacted the housing authority, they make you fill out all these forms, and again, from what I have seen, I would be surprised if rats and snakes would not reject them. Our dear landlord owns a home, and he and his wife want to move into it by the end of the month, they are tired of running the apartments, well, if they can do this, they said they will try to work out a deal where we can stay in the house where they currently are, and give us reduced rent for doing light jobs around the motel, that would be wonderful, it is contingent on the folks that are there now getting out and getting another place. They really want to help us, they are super. So, who knows. If the Tongans weren't coming for the orchard work in February through July, we would not have to leave, but, they are, crap!!!!!! If we can live in the landlords home, it would be until July, then the firm that is buying the complex takes over, I head back home and Steve goes to Christchurch to work until I get his card sorted. I head back home in July either way, but this would make it so much easier.

We went to WINZ (public assistance) yesterday to apply for more money, we are not making ends meet on what they give us, well, they will only give us a total of 45.00 more, that is NOT going to cut it, that is why I have been looking extra hard for work. This is all so horribly demoralizing. Never have I been in a situation like this, never. We have been using the credit cards for cash, but now, they are maxed and we don't even have the money to make the monthly payments, I really don't know what we are going to do. Steve says that maybe his dad will help with a loan and then he can pay him back, I sure hope so, otherwise, I truly don't know what is going to happen to us.

To top all this off, I had some digital x-rays taken a few months ago, well, I just now find out that I have mild osteoporosis and some issues involving calcifications on the anterior lateral ligaments of my lower thoracic region. No wonder I hurt. Of course, those herniated discs are getting thinner, thus, making the space between the vertebrae even thinner. It was also discovered that I have some type of bone issue in my neck, atlas region, that is like a bridge that is stopping the vertebral artery from going in the grove that it should be in. It is called a Posterior Ponticle. I am not sure how long it has been there but, I am thinking just since I have been over here. I do know, that some chiropractors won't adjust your neck if you have one as it can cause a stroke due to dissection of the artery because it is not being protected like it should. Man, how much more can I take, I am sick with worry. I have to have my neck adjusted or I feel like crap, as it is, I don't care too much for the treatments I get here.

I cancelled having my laparoscope of my ovarian mass and thick uterine wall. I was on a waitlist anyway (what else is new) and had not been given an appointment, so, I just called and told them I was going through too much stress, that Steve came first, and I was moving back home and to cancel the thing. I hope I do not have cancer, I can only pray now for that to be the case.

So, as you can see, we have been going through a lot. We have talked some more to Bill, the Landlord, he and his wife, Rosemary, it looks like they will be moving into their home in February, so, we could live in the house here, we will work out the particulars with them in a few days, so, now, we have a place to stay for at least 2 months and possibly longer, it all depends on if the sale of this motel goes through and all the red tape with it, if it goes through fast, then of course, we would need to be out by March, but, that is OK, Steve should be better and I will just change my ticket to leave sometime in March. However, if the rent will be much higher, then we won't be able to swing it, so, we are not in the clear yet. Our financial issue is still in danger, and I don't see it getting any better, right now, until we get this week's WINZ check, we only have six dollars to our name, I am serious, that is all.

Being only-human
we can find, that even just 'one thing' ...at a time
can be a real-toughie to-handle 'all at-once'
and you sure do have
'a load' upon your shoulders Susie Sis':prayer:

So, head up and shoulders back
and off you go, to get it 'sorted'
Make a list of your problems and then prioritize that list
with 'health and welfare' being your highest priority
and keeping debts/unpaid bills on the bottom-line
New arrangements, can be made later
What matters now is that you take stock (as you have)
and make plans to support yourselves / find support for the immediate future

:prayer: for comfort, healing and His peace

Thank you so much everyone. I am almost in tears, my nerves are shot, I do know that God is in control, but, well, it is hard to have faith, I am trying though.
