  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

But you see Thomas, you only continually mistake the actions that transpire IN people as only being THEM when that is assuredly NOT the case. Not only this but you HAVE been shown clearly that SATAN WORKS IN MANKIND on nearly every page of the Gospels. You have been OPENLY INFORMED of this working at least by ME...and yet you STILL only blame and accuse our fellow man, which in itself IS a working of BLINDNESS...in you...

You cannot neglect THE FACTS of the working of SIN and the implications of SATAN only at the "eternal expense" of your fellow man.

OBVIOUSLY these believers are FRONT LINE CASUALTIES.

No worthy warrior of God stabs or shoots his own compatriots of the faith who have FALLEN in the back, yet alone condemns them to burn alive forever. That is the measure of a TURNCOAT TRAITOR. A PAWN and VICTIM of the ENEMIES. And perhaps one who have never known God themselves as LOVE.
Take a deep breath, squint, all he did was quote scripture.

3This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Then why aren't all men saved?

Or are they?

We ALL serve God with the judgment of SIN in our flesh and minds.

SOME of us see IN PART while in this present life...and God in Christ could WIPE OUT every obstacle in the twinkling of an EYE if He so desired to.

What we should all sooner or later come to realize is that be being placed UNDER the pressures of DARKNESS we "learn" to be CHILDREN OF LIGHT in the "midst" of that suffering...and in that we LEARN what it is like to SUFFER which is an ETERNAL QUALITY OF LOVE.

And in this way even the DARKNESS serves us in this regard.

I smell condemners of my fellow man from miles away and they don't fool me a bit.

God in Christ does not count sins against mankind. Those who do such remain slaves whom I am obliged to "visit" in their prison of darkness...

dig?

Whatever you say.

I'll stick to the biblical account, however.

Who says they aren't?

Jesus represented Himself as The Saviour of the world.

John the Apostle represented Jesus as The Saviour of the world.

That is THEIR testimony...

Yet few can accept THAT!

You might start to see this in Romans 11:26 where ALL OF ISRAEL is saved, even those who were ENEMIES of the Gospel...

But some people are not allowed to believe what is right in front of their eyes. I do not blame them, and know what they suffer from...

Everyone who loves knows God and is born of God. (ref. 1 John 4:7)

I think there are some who will choose permanent separation from God.

I think most will be cleansed in purgatory.

In case you hadn't heard, God is Omnipresent so there is NO PLACE where God is NOT.

Well, at least you measure them a CHANCE. That's more than what many are able to do.

IF people were saved by taking their own "chances" we'd have no need for A Saviour.

I am not sure I understand completely what you are saying. Even faith itself is not of ourselves, it is from the regeneration of our spirit that we have faith in the first place. If one has a true, saving faith, requiring one to be a new creature in Christ, indwelled by the Holy Spirit, and our old spirit regenerated in Christ, how does one simply walk away from our new nature? How does the apple tree produce peaches?
Well, this is where we can get into trouble, much as Catholic does by letting the church rule his persausion; Reform teachers can do the same.

There is no where to be found in scipture where God gives anyone "special saving faith", "special grace to believe" or a "regenerated spirit or heart".. Faith is not a gift except the Pentecostal gift by the Holy Ghost, spoken of by Paul. However, that is another Faith having to with the Faith of Jesus Christ that Paul lived by when in Gal.2;20 he says this: "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith *of the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me."
Galatians 2:20 (KJV)

* Becareful of Bible your translations that use the prep, in and other places where it is used as well in the writings of Paul.
In changed the whole complexion of the what Paul wrote in that verse.

"Whosoever will let Him come", says Jesus. When he does in contriteness, Jesus gives him not a regenerated spirit, not grace or faith to believe to be saved, that isn't necessary. What Jesus gives us is a whole new Nature of the Father. To be born again means exactly that. What can be greater than that in this life that we receive what He had within Him that brought Him through trial and test to become the Christ of all Eternity in Human flesh? Are we saved by Grace? Indeed, we are. Jesus Christ is that Grace; the overflowing of the Love of God in Bodily form.

Separation from God is another way of saying death, but a permanent death of the spirit.

((IF people were saved by taking their own "chances" we'd have no need for A Saviour.))

Christ is the lifeboat. He can do you no good if you don't get in, however.

Once presented with the truth, however, who would refuse?

((I choose to believe that which God tells me, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that no matter when He calls me home....I am guaranteed...my home in heaven.)))

If you come to hate God and you reject all his commandments, will you still be saved?

Not that it would ever happen....YES I WOULD!

Quite simple even for the simplest simpleton.....They choose not to be.

A true Christian will never come to this end.

The person described here would be what I would call a "profssing Christian." Such a person would have never been TRULY saved to begin with.

I agree.

However, the Calvinists on board can't make that statement.

It destroys the entire premise of justification that they preach.

gibberish.

Men can reject God.

Salvation is a walk with Christ. If we reject him, we reject our salvation.

That is why we must persevere to the end.
