If you agree that 'we don't know what doing (or not doing) the right thing even means', then how do you think can it be taught, either at home or in school?

It is known intrinsically.

But if we can't agree on what is the right thing to do, and we don't know what that even means, how do you think can it be taught, either at home or in school?

We can agree, if we are honest. Disagreements arise when one party wants to solve a problem and the other wants to make an industry out of it. When you make a business out of a problem you build a house of cards. The right course is to solve the problem.

Intrinsically I know your position in these matters is fatally flawed.
Doesn't really help, does it? Claiming that we know certain things intrinsically.

It's all about consequences (ism). We intrinsically know that murder is wrong because we know the consequences. Of course we don't know intrinsically who disagrees with this.

And...?

Are you suggesting that you prefer to just assume your ideas are right because it's too traumatic to actually check them?

I've tested my ideas over time and they are quite sound, although admittedly radical by modern standards.

I'm too lazy to do the research (and it's not that important to me).

You seem to be contradicting yourself.

You say you have tested them, yet you are not that interested in pursuing it (post 52).

You also say that you have tested them, you claim you are also too lazy to do the research.

And despite having tested your position, can't give examples of the sort of thing you were talking about in post 38, where you said, "I believe that without the belief in evolution some discoveries would not be made, even if they might have been."

Can you see why I have trouble accepting what you say?

Perhaps you didn't understand what I meant. Search "Accidental Discoveries".

The only place my theories fail is here (it's almost like being married again). :(

I get what you mean, yet these discoveries support evolution, since they were made based on it. Why do you not consider that evidence that evolution is correct?

Evolution is way too mysterious, giant unexplained leaps, etc.

Maybe this is the only place they're critically examined...

Actually I've silenced (killed) several threads with a single inarguable statement. I did so recently regarding drug addiction. If there was disagreement it would have been forthcoming.

Why do you think it's mysterious?

If you're looking for 100% complete information you certainly won't find that in evolutionary biology or any other scientific field for that matter. But that doesn't invalidate the wealth of knowledge we do have about the subject.

That's easy to say, but the disagreements remain, and it seems likely that the parties involved will maintain they're being honest - and, for all we know, sincerely believe that.

My question remains.

I don't think many are honestly unaware of the truth in any situation, at least they shouldn't be. After all we're in the information age.
