I find that about as offensive as any post I have ever seen on here. I could go on and on but I will try not to. I may read the TOS and see if you are in violation though.
I distinctly said, "No doubt I could be wrong in some cases. But I doubt very much that I am wrong in most. That's not to say that Republicans are Christians and Democrats are not." That makes my post
not a judgement on his (or her) particular status before the Lord.
The addressee's comment to me concerning my post was, "That's a well-expressed position. Thank you for that."
Since the person my post was addressed to didn't find it personally offensive - I take it that he or she accepted it for what it was - i.e. my opinion on many if not most so called Christians compromising truth by being identified with the Democratic party or being "unable" to determine truth in the first place because they have never been born again.
I would answer that I find myself having to compromise far more of my Christian morals to identify as a Republican than I do as a Democrat, although neither of them is without flaw or fault. I know that my beliefs are distinctly unwelcome in the Republican Party, so naturally I do not feel I can vote for them with an honest heart. And when I look at the GOP's stances on issues, I most often find them to be based on flawed premises and a worldview I do not share.
I, on the other hand, find it not even close when it comes to compromising Christian morals. Funny how that can be.
I find the so called "lack" of Republican support on moral issues, such as help for the poor for instance, to be more of a matter of a different opinion as to how best to address such issue rather than a lack of compassion.
When it comes to sexual related issues and the abortion issue - the scriptures are pretty clear and IMO the difference between the two party's stances is obvious and profound.
By the way - thanks for not taking my comments personally. They were generalizations (which I stand by) and not meant to encompass your spiritual status in particular.
Are helping the poor, feeding the hungry and healing the sick (values you asserted are held by both republicans and democrats) morally upright, redeeming, “Christian” values to Hold or not?
Of course. Who has said otherwise?
It's a matter of whether the government printing money to simply give to the poor is the answer or whether there is a more fiscally responsible way of doing things. Even setting aside charity as such and concentrating on government programs -- the Republican ideas are more productive in the long run.
But speaking of charity:
Republicans are more charitable than Democrats and Europeans
You are kidding right?
You do realize that congress can pass and the president can sign into law, legislation that would effectively repeal roe, making it unenforceable, Don't you?
Roe V Wade was a Supreme Court decision and there is no reason to believe that such legislation would be found constitutional until a majority conservative court is in place.
See above. While that is one way, it is demonstrably not the only way.
Congress and the president can also repeal.
That's ridiculous.
Legislators cannot repeal a Supreme Court ruling. There is only one way to reverse that ruling and that is to have a conservative Supreme Court take on a particular case resulting in a ruling which give the opposite effect of Roe V Wade.
Conservative Majority All.
Praise the Lord.
A conservative Supreme Court may be in the offing.
We've covered that.
What are they waiting for?
A conservative Supreme Court and an appropriate case.
Since you brought up the numbers, how many Babies do you estimate will die while they wait to act?
I have no idea. That's
largely, but not solely, dependent on how many women are wiling to kill a child for their personal convenience and to escape their responsibilities.
As I said before, they will NEVER lift a finger.
They already are acting.
One Supreme Court justice down and hopefully one or two to go.
How many more babies have to die from today forward before you begin to hold the republican controlled US Government accountable for their inaction?
100?
1000?
10,000?
100,000??
1,000,000??
For me? The answer is
none.
I have already begun to act by voting as a Republican rather than Democrat and looking for Republican candidates who are openly pro-life to support in primaries.
You - on the other hand - continue to openly support the killing of babies every time you vote Democrat or post in the way you have on internet forums.
But - getting back to the subject of the OP - some people get around the question of determining gender at birth simply by killing the baby no matter what sexual parts he or she would have been born with.
