This just in... people who don't like what Rush Limbaugh says think what Rush Limbaugh says is wrong.

...and they'll grab at anything that seems to support their dislike of Rush Limbaugh.

/irony
I quit listening to Rush when he claimed he got shot down by an RPG when he was in a helicopter in Iraq. Oh wait, that someone else

This is completely misleading - to say that Rush is true only 7% of the time based on ONLY those statements that Politifact analyzed is VERY misleading.

I'm sure that if Politifact or any other fact-checking group audited ALL of what Rush Limbaugh said, then that 7% truth number would plummet to 1% or less. He's an obese drug addict who will tell any lie to keep his listeners paying his bills and supporting his addictions.

{Ahem} it happens even more often in regard to Obama - but let's keep that a secret, shall we?

What a swell guy!

My personal favorite was Sandra Fluke.

"What does it say about the college co-ed Susan Fluke [sic], who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex, what does that make her? It makes her a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse], right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We're the pimps. (interruption) The johns? We would be the johns? No! We're not the johns. (interruption) Yeah, that's right. Pimp's not the right word. Okay, so she's not a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]. She's "round heeled". I take it back."

Why does having an opinion on public affairs outrage people so much? On MSNBC there is never any discussion that is not entirely a put-down of the Republican Party...but I'm instead supposed to be outraged that Rush Limbaugh has opinions on current events?

Looking back on that quote and considering how Obama is thumbing his nose at the Constitution, the best your side can argue is that he exaggerated to make a point.

""Exercise freaks ... are the ones putting stress on the health care system." --Rush Limbaugh, June 12, 2009

Why are you acting as though he's trying to portrary an opinion/snarky comment, as a fact, when he wasn't?

"Holocaust 90 million Indians? Only four million left? They all have casinos, what's to complain about?" --Rush Limbaugh in 2009

Again he made a snarky comment, and the number 1 killer of Native Americans was actually disease, not white people going out actively trying to exterminate them...

Look as far as I know, people aren't out to exterminate Native Americans, they haven't for over a hundred years. Large groups of people still have a goal to exterminate the Jewish People. Rather than obsessing over something that pretty much ended a century ago, how about we focus on what is happening in the here and now.

"The phony soldiers." --Rush Limbaugh, on U.S. service members who support withdrawal from Iraq

Except the person he was referring to specifically was literally a phony soldier who falsely claimed to have served in Iraq when they had never even been to Iraq... You really should stop blindly believing left-wing partisan hacks that have personal animousity towards Rush Limbaugh because he actually dares to criticize them.

What a swell guy!

Honestly, I question your judgement of character.

LOL

You know, Rush has been on air for 25 years. 3 hours a day, every day - that's nearly 20,000 hours of air time, not including his brief stint on TV and his many times as a guest speaker.

I love those who claim to know so much about what Rush says when in fact I daresay were we to lump all the time together that everyone here who despises him so has actually LISTENED to his program - were we to add all that time up, I bet it wouldn't total 20 minutes.

Do you know what fraction of that time is? 20 min / (19,500 hrs x 60 min/hr). Well let's just say is a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the total.

Still, their "data set" somehow warrants their vitriol for him, I guess.

Well I'm more than happy to explain anything you didn't get in what I wrote.

Don't get me wrong. I like the logic.

Conservatives dislike President Obama, but I daresay they've seldom just opened up a Youtube video and just listen to him and only him. They've only heard a fraction of what he said.

Therefore, all of their criticisms magically don't count!

What I've noticed is that people are making the faulty assumption to blindly trust what politifact says is true. Politifact has an agenda just like the mainstream media.

Btw, I couldn't quote your post concerning immigration Dale, but there is evidence out there to suggest that politifact is lieing when they suggested Rush was lieing about Obama planning for the influx of illegal immigrant children.

A conservative blogger compiled a list of sources to connect the dots.

[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]Here's an example of how clueless Limbaugh is.[/FONT]

[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]In 2010, Limbaugh took up the cause of Creationism.[/FONT]

[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]One analysis of Limbaugh's comments:[/FONT]

You and I disagree on most things, at least ideologically, but I credit you for at least being a reasonable poster, and I mean that - and I appreciate it. I do.

You make a valid observation here, but I would caveat it slightly inasmuch as I'm not sure a comparison should necessarily be drawn between the President of the United States' comments and Rush Limbaugh's - even though such a comparison would give inordinate weight to the power of the latter's.

Don't get me wrong, I wish Rush's comments had that scope and power, but sadly, I don't think in this culture they do.

A YouTube video?? Don't you think that lack of information owes more to the failings of our major media these days--rather than that ordinary citizens don't make the site of every nutjob conspiracy theory and Hollywood-obsessed gossip page their main source of information?

Rush has plenty of power. There's millions of people who will believe whatever lie he says.

What I'm criticizing is the idea that I can't or shouldn't criticize someone just because I'm not a regular viewer. In case anyone was wondering, I have no intention of increasing his ratings so that he has more sponsors so he can get more money for saying exactly the same thing I can hear on this forum. For free.

How many conservatives on this forum regularly tune in to Maddow?

How many regularly listen to a full Obama speech in context?

I can probably count the number on an amputated limb.

The fact is that he gives out much more actual news, especially on Congress and the Executive Branch, than most other commentators who are interested almost totally in giving their insights or opinions about the news that has already been widely disseminated. This is one of the reasons his audience is so large. And those who don't care for him are upset not because of "lies" but because they don't agree with his "take" on the news.

How many conservatives on this forum regularly tune in to Maddow?

How many regularly listen to a full Obama speech in context?

How many of them are starting threads here saying that all Leftists hate this or that because Rachel Maddow offered her opinion on something or that she's a liar almost all the time?

I think I could count them on an amputated limb.

Sounds more like an opinion than a fact.

I stated it as a fact. Do you have any reason to discount it--because you are a frequent listener, for example, and are persuaded that he doesn't provide as much fact as, say, Sean Hannity or Mark Levin or Jim Hightower?

Once again, I don't have to be a regular listener. Why is this so difficult for conservatives?
