According to Politifact, an incredible 82% of Rush Limbaugh's claims fall into the categories of Mostly False, False or Pants on Fire.

It's common knowledge that you'd do just as well to believe whatever the Democratic National Committee issues in a press release as to place any trust in what "Politifact" says. I have read its reports and found them to be Mostly False, False, or Pants on Fire.

According to Politifact, an incredible 82% of Rush Limbaugh's claims fall into the categories of Mostly False, False or Pants on Fire. Atrocious lies are rated “Pants on Fire.” If you add in claims that are Half True, the figure goes up to 93%.

In other words, Politifact finds that about 7% of what Rush Limbaugh says is true. That's not very much.

Wow these are bad. They rated it FALSE that some of the wealthiest Americans are African American. This is in fact true. The wealthiest Americans are not just those on the Forbes 400 list, but definitionally are all those Americans who have a networth in excess of the average networth, which basically means any household with a taxable income over $60,000 a year. Or we could use all those in the highest tax bracket, anyone with a household income over approximately $460,000.

Are you seriously trying to tell me, that only Oprah Winfrey is rich? And all those millions that Lebron, Puffy, Russel Wilson, etc. earn??? go into the vapor?

Herman Caine was CEO of Godfathers, he may not be Fortune 400, but he sure as heck could only fairly be described as wealthy or rich.

It's pretty easy to "give the lie" when you contort the plain meaning of words.

Politifact is a mouthpiece for the DNC and, sadly, the DNC puts out nothing but lies and propaganda targeted to the most base instincts of an uninformed electorate. At one time in America people would look at an organization like the DNC and pathological liars like every national Democrat senator or congressman and see that the party has become as rabid as the Soviets in their heyday. It's sad when Pravda has more credibility than American news organizations.

How any Christian can support the party of gay marriage, mass infanticide and universal socialism is beyond me.

Of course you could argue the meaning of the word "some"...

Although Rush Limbaugh spends his life lashing out at liberals, he doesn't really know what a liberal is. Where I live, followers of Limbaugh describe liberals as “parasites.” Very misleading, to put it mildly.

To be fair though. It's only when he's on TV. Maybe he's actually a very honest person in real life.

I didn't define wealthiest as you suggest. I variously defined it as households with GREATER THAN median income meaning that they were in the wealthier half of all households, and those in the top income tax bracket.

To be completely literal about it, "wealthiest" would only apply to the PERSON with more wealth than everyone else in the defined population. In America, the wealthiest person is Bill Gates, and no one else could be considered "wealthiest."

Whatever the common usage is between the literal and the floor, it is usually greater than the .00001% represented by the Forbes 400. For example there could be no "best students" in any school with less than 18 million students (and then there would only be 2).

Rush is a dishonest fear-peddler, but no, that's not what the Politifact numbers say. What the numbers say is that OF THE CLAIMS THAT THEY CHOOSE TO ANALYZE, those percentages are true/false. I'm not aware of any place that Politifact claims that their selection is statistically representative of the whole of Limbaugh's statements.

I'm just re-posting this, because it can't be said enough.

I guess we should all trust MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, NYT, WAPO, etc. for the truth. These outlets never lie and are 100% accurate.
You should have a look at how these same people rated CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News. They sampled Fox more than any of them, and only sampled CNN roughly half as much (best way to minimize lies - don't sample the station as much). They also did not share their sampling methodology.

Where I live, many folks believe that Rush Limbaugh is a source of news.
Lots of people in my generation believe that the Daily Show is a source of news. That is sad.

Audited by the independent firm Dittohead and Associates......

Yes, I remember the Rush Limbaugh TV show.

Limbaugh speaks and the Dittoheads in the jury box (that's what it looks like) repeat the words of Limbaugh.

It's one of the most absurd things I've ever seen on television.

Despite these facts Limbaugh's ratings remain high (though on the decline from his past successes) and it says more about his audience than it does about him.

What I've noticed is that people are making the faulty assumption to blindly trust what politifact says is true. Politifact has an agenda just like the mainstream media.

Btw, I couldn't quote your post concerning immigration Dale, but there is evidence out there to suggest that politifact is lieing when they suggested Rush was lieing about Obama planning for the influx of illegal immigrant children.

A conservative blogger compiled a list of sources to connect the dots.

For years Obama has been trying to increase taxes on the "wealthiest", which for him meant anyone making over $200,000, or a couple making over $250,000.

Conservatives have no trouble with that site when its findings are not favorable to the right wing. Therefore, they should have no trouble now - that is, if they have enough principle to be consistent.
