To be honest, the village shop is probably closer. There's a young Sri Lankan lad who works there, who hasn't had a day off since the day before forever.

For 12 hours a day he stands behind the counter, ready and waiting. He's never stuck for a smile either.

Got to admire the Eastern work ethic.

A lot of people that come from nothing and have the opportunity to earn everything in comparison... a lot of them run with it and never take it for granted.

This is a picture I took of a stray cat we adopted. I did some filters with photoshop but the ray of light is original. Sadly, she died a couple of days later after this picture was taken due to food poisoning. Later, we gave up her kittens for adoption.

Even though we only had her a short time. We miss her a lot. Quite unexpectedly, she behaved in exactly the same way as our beloved dog who died 3 years ago. In fact, this cat made its way into our house. Makes you wonder.

It's lovely isn't it? It's the only house within two miles. (Mine is possibly the closest to it.)

This is a standing hay feild for my dry cows. There's 130 out here at the moment with the rest joining them very soon. It's holiday time for them now. They're all due to calve and start work again August/September.

Actually... I've always been curious as to know who lives in that house. I've lived out here for two years now and I haven't knocked on their door once.

Bit rude of me really.

I really meant to reply to this when you posted this but time got away from me.

It really is! I love that style. I would love to see the interior of the home.

Work is never done for cows it seems. I would enjoy working with them, but only dairy cows, not beef ones. Or whatever they're called. I would love to own some Jersey Cows.

You should go find out, and ask if you can take some interior shots of their home. I'm sure they wouldn't mind

I would LOVE to do more dramatic photography like abandoned buildings, ghost towns, etc.

me too. Since Katrina, there are plenty of such places around New Orleans. Unfortunately they tend to be either dangerous, or locked up and guarded. like
