This news story today was just too much:
On Wednesday's "700 Club" broadcast, the founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network predicted that evangelism will increase and more people will seek God as the chaos develops. Robertson said, "We will see the presence of angels and we will see an intensification of miracles around the world."
Last year, Robertson predicted that a terrorist act, possibly involving a nuclear weapon, would result in mass killing in the United States. Noting that it hadn't come to pass, Robertson said, "All I can think is that somehow the people of God prayed and God in his mercy spared us."
No, Pat. What happened is that you didn't actually hear from God at all. You just convince yourself that your own imagination is God talking to you, and then you say whatever feelings and fears are on your mind. But the proof of a prophet is "in the pudding," so to speak. We are all to watch and see if what you prophesy comes to pass; and if it does NOT, you're a false prophet, plain and simple.
If you had uttered this false prophecy under the Old Testament law, Pat, you would have been stoned to death for being a false prophet and for presuming to speak for God. Instead, you just misled millions of your viewers and discredited Christ in the eyes of many, many Americans. Great job, Mr. Robertson. Now, would you please stop it? Thanks! Wait, I here and now prophesy that Pat Robertson WON'T quit uttering all these false prophecies. Unlike the predictions you utter, Mr. Robertson, mine come true.
