Wow! Good question, I think that I normally think of demonic as being malicious. So I would say that when I said it did not appear to be demonic it would better convey my thought to have said it did not appear to be malicious.

However, then how do I explain this ‘presence’ it was a spirit of some sort that was able to interact with this world and it was conscious of what was going on in this time. In other words it wasn’t a replay imprint of the past. As I said I have never been able to reconcile this experience from what I have learned of the spiritual world. The Bible including what most people refer to as the Old Testament although I call The Tanach and The Chumash are the bases of my faith, I have studied many spiritual beliefs including Hebrew Kabbalah. No where have I found anything that explains this from a Christian perspective, in that human spirits should not somehow be trapped in this world.
Everything cannot be explained through a strictly Christian view as it is presented today. That is unless we adopt the stick our heads in the sand technique of dubbing everything that doesn't line up with what we believe as being demonic or satanic.

I have a Mentor who actually performs exorcisms in Europe. He has told me that much of what occurs and is branded as paranormal is actually the result of activity within the human psyche, created through intense emotional trauma or stress, fear also plays a significant role. He suggests a study in the subject of parapsychology. This is interesting due to the fact that many in Deliverance Ministry say that trauma and emotional distress can "trigger" demonic activity. Or "open a door" that welcomes demonic influence.

Rather, perhaps these trauma trigger abilities latent within each of us. The results being unpleasant because people generally don't know how to harness or control them to use them effectively and beneficently and the church can't teach them how.

During my initial training, when we were covering possession and such, I was taught there were two stages...obsession, where the demon attempted to cause disorder and imbalance in the psyche of the person in order to cause and imbalance, which in turn would sort of "give the demon somewhere to be" and allow them to move in.

Thank you Izarya for your post, this point is very interesting and has given me much to consider and, as always, to study. What your mentor shared with you does explain much that I have questioned. Sticking my head in the sand has never brought me to a new level of understanding. Knowledge isn’t dangerous.

I just got confirmation. This weekend we will be going to conduct an investigation at the University of Western Oregon. Supposedly there is a female ghost of a past Dean who roams the Todd Hall section of the building.

Here is more detailed info on the "ghost." I'm still researching this one.

Yeah, what CW and Jeb said, I sure hope you get some activity while you are there and look forward to reading your account.

Jeb I found your experience fascinating! That is the first account that I have learned of that had a connection between physics and the metaphysical in the instance of paranormal activity. It took true genius to take that extra step of investigating the architecture of the house, and then to take the information obtained to the logical but unprecedented conclusion. This account is a reminder to never overlook the details and an encouragement to think outside the box.

Also thanks for sharing the information regarding your training –

“During my initial training, when we were covering possession and such, I was taught there were two stages...obsession, where the demon attempted to cause disorder and imbalance in the psyche of the person in order to cause and imbalance, which in turn would sort of "give the demon somewhere to be" and allow them to move in.”

This is the phase we (Christians) refer to as oppression. This we believe can lead to possession. The term obsession better describes what happens, what I have called the ‘broken record syndrome’, the person being influenced will go over the same situation over, and over, and over as if they are caught in a loop, if that loop cannot be broken- well, we both know the result. Thanks for sharing this as I found it extremely interesting.

One of my teachers taught me to:

1. Always look for physical solutions first. Once exhausted, move on to magicks if necessary.

2. That the "spirit world" and "physical world" is just one world, one phenomena, and that we needed to apply a type of metaphysical holism to our work.

Please understand I am submitting to no authority but Jesus Christ and through him the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. Your concern for me is appreciated and I understand what you are attempting to convey.

Your webpage is extremely good and in fact substantiates my position in the last paragraph.

“Here's the spiritual firewall. As I receive advice from various sources, I figuratively hold the advice up to Jesus Christ of Nazareth for His approval. If the peace of God descends, I receive that advice AS FROM THE LORD. If I get no peace, I will remember it for tests, but renounce it from my heart. Better a glass of pure water than ten gallons of mud.”

Through my half a century now (happy birthday to me) I have studied many things but I have no intension of reading cards etc. what Iz wrote to me is based on his extensive study in certain areas of spirituality. Knowledge of such things does not mean following such things or submitting to that authority. CW has one of the most loving souls I have ever seen. Jeb certainly has no doubt that I am a Christian, but he doesn’t hate me for my faith. He is extremely intelligent and well studied on a wide variety of subjects and is interesting to communicate with especially in the area of the paranormal. This communication in no way translates to his submission to my authority if that were true then he would return to being a Christian.

We share at least one thing a common interest in the paranormal and spirituality though we all come at it from different directions, which makes it interesting.

Well, I got home at about 1:30am Saturday night. We would have stayed longer but all of our batteries were drained. I went through about 6 AAA and 4 AA batteries in the space of about 2 and a half hours. It was the same for everyone else.

I did get some pictures with orbs in them, though I do not get excited about orbs. Mike on the other hand took a photo of a long hallway with double doors at the end, when we zoomed the image, there was a woman seen standing on the other side of the door (our team was alone in the building, even security stayed outside while we conducted our investigation).

At one point while walking down the hall I heard voices coming out of a room. It sounded as if 4 or more people were having a fairly loud conversation. When I opened the door of course the room was empty. A table was moved and turned on it's side at one point while we were away, whispers behind one's back and over one's shoulder, I still have a tron of data to go over.

I will post a more complete update when we are all done.

Everyone in this thread: please allow me to derail this for just a brief second.

CW has one of the most loving souls I have ever seen.

I think this is one of the kindest things ANYONE has ever said about me. I am humbled and so very thankful that you said this 4me2. May you find a truly special blessing in your walk today!

Why not get excited about orbs? To be honest, I get excited about even the littlest things--because I've felt so spiritually dead over the past 38 years that ANYTHING--even an orb--would cause me to straighten up and pay close attention!

Well, I guess it's just the opposite for me in the sense that the last, oh... at least 15 years of my life have been almost completely submerged in spiritual exploration, experiences and growth. Even longer than that, so I guess it becomes easier to take things for granted after a while.

Another thing is along the lines of "proof" of paranormal activity, orbs are too easily met with skepticism. Dust on the lens, debris or humidity in the air...even though none of those things were a factor it's hard to convince someone else who wasn't there that this was or was not the case.

BTW, do you see the similarities between the general makeup of our avatars?

Actually, there are! You have to talk to the night staff. Mental hospitals also abound with such accounts, it seems that places where great pain and suffering or psychological trauma occurred are more prone to this type of activity. I have my own theories, but they are just that, theories... that's what got me interested in investigation, testing my theories against real circumstances.
Prisons too -- have heard all sorts of talk about haunted prisons. You figure all that negative energy from crimes committed, harms done, guilt and terror and anguish felt, oppression from staff and inmates alike, torture, rape, murder, the list bes endless .... massive breeding grounds ....

hope y'all don't mind this one cruisin' by here.... it getsy grounds privileges for posting in clubs 11/10 so it wants postings. :)

Yes. But I have heard comments from people who think everyone whoever sees or experiences something supernatural is deluded.
I know thats not so.
In other words, has anyone with you ever freaked out when something unusual occured?

A friend of this one heard its HGA speak out loud to it when called. We bes together somewheres in PA out in a place away from civilisation. She went to meditate, just chill, this one went to do HGA invocation. She politely sat a distance off, tuning this one out so as not to intrude, but when she hearsy them voice out the sky it shook her up quite a bit. ;)

In WV we lived in a house that was said to be haunted. We sees all sorts there, friends did too. One of our friends came down from the bathroom white as a sheet, said something growled at him up there. Another friend, young, pregnant, staying with us for a time, she wakesy on a couple occasions seeing apparitions. One scared her so bad she took to shrieking, wakesy whole household. Just little things happened here & there, a fan coming on (unplugged, if recall serves correctly) with no one touching it; a lightbulb detaching & floating down from the ceiling like a feather, stuff like that. (Other things we cannot post here because would violate restrictions for grounds privileges.) Lots of spontaneous OBE type stuff too.
