How many pagan traditions can you find in Christian ones? Hint: Halloween.
That's a poorly worded question.
Holidays, created by Christians, can be celebrated in certain cultures with traditions that come from pagans. One thing people forget is not everyone celebrates holidays the same way even Christian holidays like Christmas and Easter.
There are simpletons that are convinced one or both of those holidays are pagan because of how it is celebrated in America, even if the rest of the non-Anglo Christian world doesn't celebrated it that way. Some people get confused when they learn most Christians don't have Christmas trees, or candy canes.
Thanksgiving in the United States was created by Christians, recalling Christian pilgrims and pagan Natives sharing a meal, using foods only consumed by pagans up to that point. Christians don't ramble on about Thanksgiving because it was created by Puritans, even though it was created by Puritans and Pagans.
Puritans rejected the concept of Holy Days. Christians throughout the world have a long history of celebrating Holy Days. Puritans rejected this as Popery. When Catholics arrived, Puritan, Baptists, and other children asked why they didn't have celebrations like their Catholic, Orthodox, Episcopal and other Christians neighbors. So, they lied. They said and spread the idea that other Christians created Holy Days by taking on pagan holidays.
The biggest holidays are Christmas and Easter and people repeat and further elaborate upon what originated as outright lies. It is repeated so much that people don't even want to bother refuting them.
Halloween is actually the least influenced by other cultures and it's not pagan. However, I fully expect to get a reply with a link or a youtube video from someone created by an uninformed, unintelligent, possible nut.
