Why would I seek the fictional?

As does an exercise in self-deception.

By "not shove salvation down your throat", you mean, "will appear, but every objective means to date, as fictional".

I cannot choose to be receptive or not, any more than I can consciously chose what I believe.

Or, by "receptive", do you mean "gullible"? No, I cannot choose to be gullible.
It is your choice to sit on your hands and hope for the best.....

You might want to read it again.....the answer is right there.....
Why so evasive? Are you unable to answer a direct question? Are you uncomfortable with this question?

Do you think people should be held accountable for things beyond their control? Yes or no?

What do you mean "beyond their control"? I don't have control of the world's hungry, but I could do something more than what I do now. To the extent I'm able, I expect to be held accountable. Am I responsible for the bombing in Belgium? No, I have no control of other people. I do have resources I am in control of, though, and how I use them-my time, talent and treasure. How I use those things, for they are meant to be SHARED, yes, I will be held accountable.

I mean beliefs. As anonymous person has described his theology, we are [hypothetically] to be held accountable for what we believe, even as he concedes that he (we) are unable to choose what we believe. While this makes his theology morally bankrupt, at least he is clear on this matter.

How this compares to what civilwarbuff believes is unclear, as he just runs in circles when pressed on the matter.

And yourself? Do you think people should be held accountable for things beyond their control?

So, challenge our beliefs. You have done a very poor job of that so far.....
Sometimes it is not so much the challenging of beliefs, but observing the responses of the religionist. Will they step up to the challenge and provide direct responses to questions, or be evasive and obfuscate?

What do you not understand about my answer? It is plain and straight forward. If you can't understand it, that is not my fault. And yes, you can chose what you believe.

Yes, you will be held accountable for your beliefs. I believe God is merciful, and if you're sincerely ignorant of Him, He will take that into account.
We will be held into account for everything. God will allow for sincere ignorance. He is Merciful. All Loving. He will ask you what you love the most. If your answer is not Him, he will allow you whatever hell you choose. If you love watching porn, he will let you. He will deny Himself to you, though. I think that's exactly what CWB believes.

I wonder how sincere the inquiry is...if you're someone seeking the truth, this is not really the place to find it. You should go seek it in person. We can point you in the right direction, but as they say, you can lead a horse to water...

If fails to address the question, and it does not elucidate on this "advantage" that you allude to, and includes a veiled insult at those that believe differently that you. Is this my fault?
And yes, you can chose what you believe.
Cool. Choose to believe that gods are only characters in books, right now. Let me know when you have done that.

I wonder how sincere the inquiry is...
What has my sincerity have to do with anything? Unless you have a mind-reading apparatus handy, one should assume one is being forthright.
if you're someone seeking the truth, this is not really the place to find it.
I would agree, but it is the place to learn about religionists.
You should go seek it in person.
What do you mean? I have to go to the library myself?
We can point you in the right direction, but as they say, you can lead a horse to water...
This assumes that what you believe to be true is actually truth. That has not been established here.

I specifically address the question; if you want I will elucidate on the advantage of the sheep over the goats (that was never part of the original question, just something I threw in); and there was no insult to anyone veiled or otherewise. And yes, it is your fault that you refuse to understand my original answer.

No, I chose to believe in my God, my King, my Savior and my Messiah......You can chose to believe in anything you want....

You are just blind to the truth.....Mat 15:14
14 Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If one blind person leads another blind person, both will fall into a ditch.

I specifically address the question;
How so?
if you want I will elucidate on the advantage of the sheep over the goats (that was never part of the original question, just something I threw in);
As this is your third reference to it, you may as well explain it.
and there was no insult to anyone veiled or otherewise.
Do you think people appreciate being called goats, simply on the basis that they disagree with you?
And yes, it is your fault that you refuse to understand my original answer.
"Refuse" implies intent. I tried to make sense of it, but could not. Explain how your response addressed my question, when what was asked for was a 'yes' or a 'no'.
No, I chose to believe in my God, my King, my Savior and my Messiah......You can chose to believe in anything you want....
I did not say you could not change back. Choose to believe that gods are only characters in books, right now. Let me know when you have done that.

Then you can choose to believe in your god again.

Or do you concede that you cannot do so?

No, by "truth", I am referring to having the state of being true.

I am not blind to your religious opinion, or random bible quotes, I just do not find them compelling.

Go find, I am tired of doing it for you....
As this is your third reference to it, you may as well explain it.
The advantage is the sheep are believers and have forgiveness.....the goats had the chance and chose not to believe....
Do you think people appreciate being called goats, simply on the basis that they disagree with you?
Matthew 25:32-33
Or do you concede that you cannot do so?
I choose not to.....I have the power of choice. It is given to me by God. I can choose his way or not as you can. What is your choice?

You really should study scripture if you are going to post here.....

Tired of something you have yet to do?

I do not recall ever making such a choice. It is certainly not a choice that I can consciously make at this time, in the absence of compelling evidence.
Matthew 25:32-33
So the bible writers used the insult. Does this make it okay?
I choose not to.....I have the power of choice. It is given to me by God. I can choose his way or not as you can. What is your choice?
Back to evasion and obfuscation. If you cannot make this choice, concede that you cannot.

Anonymous person conceded that he cannot, that belief is not a conscious choice.
You really should study scripture if you are going to post here.....
Why, when it is all subject to interpretation? It has been my experience here that there is no position, however contrary to another, that someone cannot find support for in the Bible.

Not going to do your work for you....time for you to do your own.....

You realize that not making a choice is a choice.....
So the bible writers used the insult. Does this make it okay?
Yep....

I have made my choice....AP makes his; it has nothing to do with me.
