CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think they lost that one, or atleast they didnt win it. 
The Brits kept their colonies, I know that. And they won the Revolution, but they also lost techinically, because it was France vs. France

Oh THAT revolution!!! The only wars they have won are when WE were helping(revolution, WW1+WW2). My mom said there was one against Russia she thinks they won, but she isnt a big war or history person, so I could be wrong.

Napolean won some battles, but he lost more than he won. He was even beaten by a couple of backwards Russians.
The French won some wars... the Battle of Tours, the First Crusade, but virtually every other war they've won has been with major assistance from other countries.

Ya, but EVERYONE who attacks Russia loses, pretty much. Its because of the winters. Bismarck once said, "A perfect political policy? Thats an easy one. Make a good treay with Russia."(well, thats not exactly how he siad it, but the last sentence is right. Plus he said it in german....)

Well let's see....I'm an exetremely distant cause to one of Hitler's generals. My father and grandmother crossed over here when my dad was about two to excape the war, they weren't Nazis. My Itallian comes from my mother's side, but we're not Catholic, we're Christian. And all my family EXCEPT my mom are dead.
Oh and I'm related to Buffilo Bill by mariage and to Bill the Kid through alot of cousins. As well as a decendant to Spangler, who helped Booth assasinate Abraham Lincoln. I think those were the highlights. OH! Also I'm related to Splanger's granddaughter, or something like that, who was an actress named Jean Spangler. Wow...that's alot of people I'm related closely....

Hey, having German blood is NOT bad at all. They werent nazis, and that is what was important. Two of my big historical heroes were German, and one of them was Hitler's best!(but not a nazi) His name was Erwinn Rommel, code named the Desert Fox. He lead the campaign in Africa and he was also running the show in Western Europe for a while. He was involved in an assassination attempt on Hitler(but it kinda failed...) but Rommel was very popular, so he was not put on trial. However, he was told that if he took cyanide they would claim he had a heart attack and give his family full compensation for his death and make sure they stayed safe. He did, and the nazis surprisingly held up their end of the deal. His wife and son were unscathed after the war. Winston Churchill even commented on what a chivalrous and noble man he was.

.............thats about as stupid as a girl in my comp. class disliking germany as well as me because her mom's side of her family is jewish.
You know what her best stab at Germany was? "They tore down their own wall!"(Berlin wall) I corrected that it was the USSR's wall, and that the Germans went AROUND France's wall.(Maginot Line, the defensive line that would have stopped all Nazi invaders had they not simply gone around it.

Yep. After WW2, the Allies and the USSR split Germany up, east and west. USSR got east, and since they were oppressing the germans, they built the wall to keep them from fleeing to West Germany.
