Your response to the 15 texts in my post that you gave the response above to... was to ignore them all and say lets talk about 1 Tim 1 instead?

Ok 1 Tim 1
5 But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6 For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, 7 wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.
8 But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers 10 and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, 11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.

We also know it is written on the heart under the New Covenant - Hebrews 8:6-12.

And we know it condemns all the world as sinners - Romans 3:19-21

And we know that the lost "do not submit to the Law of God neither indeed CAN they" Romans 8:4-10

Switch from false accusation piled on top of false accusation - to actually responding to the texts...

As we both know "I am not author of the texts" so treating them as if they are all just "my doctrine" is not "compelling".

Try another solution.
The very first thing you need to know about the law is that it is not made for a righteous man. So all of your verses saying the law is good, saying it will last, saying that the lost can't submit to it are pointing to one thing: the law is designed to bring man to the end of himself so he will depend on Jesus Christ.
See Galatians 3:24-25

Every time -- "God's commandments" or "the Commandments" or "The LAW" is quoted in the NT - it is always the LAW of Moses.

See Matt 19 "which commandments?" and Christ answers the question.
See Mark 7:6-13
See Romans 13 where we see Christ's Matt 19 list "again"
See Romans 7
See Eph 6:2
See James 2

Every time -- "God's commandments" or "the Commandments" or "The LAW" is quoted in the NT - it is always the LAW of Moses.

That answers the question about what the Commandments are.

That is not helping your argument since the point above was "what does the Bible say those commandments are".

Every time -- "God's commandments" or "the Commandments" or "The LAW" is quoted in the NT - it is always the LAW of Moses.

=============================

let's make it really simple

"do not take God's name in vain" Ex 20:7
"Honor your father and mother" Ex 20:12
"Love God with all your heart" Deut 6:5
"Love your neighbor as yourself" Lev 19:18

Do you think we can see the Law of Moses in Exodus 20 or Deut 6? or Lev 19?

"if you Love Me KEEP My Commandments" said Christ - John 14:15
Actually it helps me greatly.
Galatians 3
23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed.
24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

Remember who the law is for.

That is the purpose of the LAW for the lost..

And this is it for the saved.

the LAW is "written on the heart" Jer 31:31-33 under the NEW Covenant.
the saints "KEEP the Commandments of God AND their faith in Jesus" Rev 14:12
"do we then make VOID the LAW of God by our faith - God forbid! In fact we ESTABLISH the LAW of God" Rom 3:31

the "Old Covenant" . Details matter.

Ex. 34:23-27
23 “Three times in the year all your men shall appear before the Lord, the Lord God of Israel. 24 For I will cast out the nations before you and enlarge your borders; neither will any man covet your land when you go up to appear before the Lord your God three times in the year.
25 “You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leaven, nor shall the sacrifice of the Feast of the Passover be left until morning.
26 “The first of the firstfruits of your land you shall bring to the house of the Lord your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.”
27 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write these words, for according to the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”

The Old Covenant is a term unique to the NEW Testament and is never used in the Old Testament text. But it was an “agreement” made with the nation of Israel – not with an individual.

The Old Covenant a type of the arrangement between God and lost humanity where the LAW of God condemns all mankind as sinners – see Romans 3:19-21

Rom 3
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

From; What was the Old Covenant?

“In the Old Covenant, the Israelites were required to obey God and keep the Law, and in return He protected and blessed them”

(Deuteronomy 30:15–18;

15 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. 17 But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, 18 I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess.

1 Samuel 12:14–15).
14 If you fear the Lord and serve Him and obey His voice, and do not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then both you and the king who reigns over you will continue following the Lord your God. 15 However, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then the hand of the Lord will be against you, as it was against your fathers.

The national covenant was broken by Israel -

“The Old Covenant established our guilt before God and our need for a Savior. The Old Covenant was never intended to save us;”

The National Covenant was written by Moses at God’s Command and is made with Israel as a nation

The Covenant was written by the hand of God 40 days later – The Ten Commandments are moral law for all mankind. But as long as they are only external on tablets of stone and not on the tablets of the human heart – they condemn all mankind as sinners. Rom 3:19-20

Ex. 34:

23 “Three times in the year all your men shall appear before the Lord, the Lord God of Israel. 24 For I will cast out the nations before you and enlarge your borders; neither will any man covet your land when you go up to appear before the Lord your God three times in the year.

27 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write these words, for according to the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”

28 So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He (God) wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.

A FEW examples of Commands in both the Old Covenant and the New Covenant – the moral law of God

Thou shalt

God said I will remember iniquity
God found fault with the Old Covenant because man could not keep it.
So He made a New Covenant, not like the one given at Sinai
New Covenant
God says, “I will put My laws in their mind
I will be their God
I will be merciful to their unrighteousness
their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.

Yes details matter. The details you refuse to consider are we're now delivered from the law (Romans 7:6). We're dead to the law(Romans 7:4).
Ex. 34:23-27

Israel was only required to worship 3 times a year. You require weekly. Details matter, remember?
The Old Covenant is a term unique to the NEW Testament and is never used in the Old Testament text. But it was an “agreement” made with the nation of Israel – not with an individual.
Nothing but fluff filler.
The Old Covenant a type of the arrangement between God and lost humanity where the LAW of God condemns all mankind as sinners – see Romans 3:19-21
No the "old covenant" is given to Israel alone at Sinai by the words of Moses in Deuteronomy 5:3. Your referenced passage says nothing about lost humanity. It does talk about those "who are under the law." Paul says twice in chapter 6 Ye and we "are not under the law."
Rom 3
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
You make my point with emphasis.
From; What was the Old Covenant?

“In the Old Covenant, the Israelites were required to obey God and keep the Law, and in return He protected and blessed them”
Are you talking about details? ;) If so why is it you say it's we who are under the law?
(Deuteronomy 30:15–18;

The national covenant was broken by Israel -

“The Old Covenant established our guilt before God and our need for a Savior. The Old Covenant was never intended to save us;”
The "old covenant established nothing of the sort. Read Genesis. It talks about guilt.
The National Covenant was written by Moses at God’s Command and is made with Israel as a nation
Yes the "old covenant" was a national covenant. You apply it to all mankind. So which is it?
The Covenant was written by the hand of God 40 days later – The Ten Commandments are moral law for all mankind. But as long as they are only external on tablets of stone and not on the tablets of the human heart – they condemn all mankind as sinners. Rom 3:19-20
But Christians aren't under that covenant. You clearly call that covenant "old covenant," "the law" and now a "national covenant."
Ex. 34:

Just a repeat of the above. So this is nothing but filler.

Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
You can use stone to sharpen a tool, the problem though is a stone takes away from the blade to make it sharp.
You can only use a stone so many times and the blade is useless (dead).
Or you can use iron which does not take away from the blade, but it reshapes the metal. This can be done over and over and you will always have a good blade.
The Old Covenant written on stone is a ministry of death.
Jesus came to give life and give it abundantly.

Yes details matter. The details you refuse to consider are we're now delivered from the law (Romans 7:6). We're dead to the law(Romans 7:4).

Romans 7:4,6 speaks of those who are lost becoming saved - and entering a state under grace where they are no longer condemned for past sins.

1 Cor 6 is where Paul flat out condemns those who have already become Christians - for sin they were committing . So also in the case of 1Cor 5.

Hence Rom 3:31 for the saved "do we then make void the law of God by our faith? God forbid! In fact we ESTABLISH the Law of God"

The point remains - as per the Bible details you choose to ignore.

Which is why Christ in Matthew 19 and Paul in Romans 13 are so insistent that we keep the TEN Commandments? Keep them to the point of giving us the list of them that deal with man's duty to man.

Matthew 19, Jesus was using the law for its intended purpose, to expose sin as you quoted earlier
Rom 3

Romans 13 Paul is talking about loving one another. If we do this, the law will be fulfilled.
No need to focus on or even remember the 10 Commandments.

Matthew 19, Jesus was using the law for its intended purpose, to expose sin as you quoted earlier

So he did not consider it deleted or of no consequence.

And in Romans 13 Paul quotes the same law - insisting that it be "fulfilled" by Christians.

Romans 13 Paul is talking about loving one another.

In Romans 13 (just as Christ does in Matthew 19) Paul points out that the Law of Moses in Lev 19:18 forms the firm foundation upholding the last six of the Commandments dealing with our duty to our fellow man. Far from abolishing either the Ten Commandments or the Law of Moses in Lev 19:18 - he upholds them both... even after the cross.

Try actually quoting it then telling us it is describing the saved condition -- all the world being guilty and condemned.

Rom 3
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Paul says twice in chapter 6 Ye and we "are not under the law."

True - since he already defined that term in Romans 3 as "guilty before God" and condemned - lost.

So then what about the "Saved"? Paul addresses that too - in Romans 3:

"What then do WE abolish the LAW by our faith? God forbid!! In fact we ESTABLISH the LAW" Rom 3:31

The point remains

When I quote a chapter they will want a book... a book then the entire OT... it never ends.

Was there a reason you didn't want to quote a verse that said the 10C was the covenant? Is that why you stopped one verse away?

Was there a reason you didn't want to quote a verse that said the 10C was the covenant?

Was there a reason you don't want to quote a verse that says the LAW of God was deleted or that it did not include God's Ten Commandments?

Because until then the New Covenant of Jeremiah 31 and Hebrews 8 still includes this
1. The "Law of God written on heart and mind"
2. Sins forgiven
3. Adoption into the family of God

James 2
8 If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” (Lev 19:18) you are doing well.

Hint: What "Scripture" is James 2 quoting?

James 2
9 But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. 11 For He who said,Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not commit murder.”

Who said "Do not commit adultery" -- and when?
Who said "Do not murder" -- and when?

Answer: it was God!

James 2
Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty.

Matthew 19
if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.” 18 Then he *said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said,
You shall not commit murder; Ex 20
You shall not commit adultery; Ex 20
You shall not steal; Ex 20
You shall not bear false witness; Ex 20
19 Honor your father and mother; Ex 20
and You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Lev 19:18

What Law is that?
What is Jesus quoting?

When asked 'Which ones?" from what does Jesus quote?

(Note to the reader: Expect no answer to my questions)

That text makes the case that the Gospel promises in the New Covenant preceded the covenant at Sinai.

And so -- it was "always sin" to "take God's name in vain" before Sinai and even to this day.

Maybe you can understand the following

Gal 3
21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. 22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

The LAW condemns all mankind - and Paul says in Gal 3 - this is "SCRIPTURE" that is condemning all mankind as sinners. (As it still does to this very day) -- and thus it is "still a sin" to take God's name in vain!

But a person is released from the condemnation of the Law - when the person comes to faith in Christ and under the NEW Covenant is born-again, the LAW of God written on the heart, sins forgiven, adopted into the family of God -- read it yourself in Jeremiah 31:31-33

The 10 commandments were the words of the Sinai covenant given by God

True - but it has always been a sin to take God's name in vain - that is not something that "became true" only at Sinai or is true only for the lost.

"SIN IS transgression of the LAW" 1 John 3:4 - even in the NT. Not just in the OT.

And "the LAW is written on the heart" Jeremiah 31:31-33 under the NEW Covenant - even in the NEW Testament Hebrews 8:6-12

no text says "The Law was until Christ" not even Gal 3
no text says "the Ten Commandments were until Christ" not even Gal 3
no text says "The Ten Commandments ended at the Cross" not even Gal 3

Thus it is still a sin to "take God's name in vain"

What is more ...

1 Cor 6
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators,

nor idolaters,
nor adulterers,
nor effeminate,
nor homosexuals,
10 nor thieves,
nor the covetous,
nor drunkards,
nor revilers,
nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

Rom 3:31
31 Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.

Eph 6:2
2 Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise),

Hint: First Commandment with a promise - where ?

Is there a reason why you always post Romans 8:4-10 and leave out Romans 8:1-3?

The law showed us our sin. Jesus took away our sin. The law is for those who still need their sin shown to them, but true Christians who walk in the Spirit, also given to us by Jesus, do not sin, and therefore are not under the law.

The law showed us our sin. .

True.

Is this why you appear to never quote Romans 3:31 or the New Covenant?

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.

What do you think establishing the law means? It means we keep it and we can't break it, because the sin nature has been removed, which it was designed to show us.
