cross breeding depends on how closely related they are. many cross breedings don't result in sterility though

we are currently too different . Monkeys are quadrupeds ( they walk on all fours ) . Their upper bodies show this . The scapula is at the side and they have a pointed narrow chest ( like a dogs) . They’re also unable to fully straighten out their elbows. Apes which is the actual lineage that humans descend from, have the scapula in the back and wide flat chests with wide shoulders . This along with a flexible shoulder girdle enables apes to tree swing ( human infants can do it easily. adults’ legs are too long and while trained gymnasts can do it ,most of us have trouble with it) . Even so, we split apart from the chimps about 7 million years ago . While we still have about 99% genetic similarities, the sperm and eggs have major biochemical incompatibilities and they won’t form a zygote ( the Nazis did those experiments - yechhh)
