2. Invoking magic doesnt help your case.
It's certainly not helping yours, is it?

I'm not the one wondering when the Flood was, how the Ark survived it vis-à-vis the Wyoming (amateurs built the Ark, professionals built the Wyoming), when the pyramids were built, and other questions, am I?

No definitive wood type but it's use may give clues. Long, straight grained, easy to tool boards and timbers would be required for making the ark. Redwood or cedar would fill the bill. All species probably grew to great heights in the pre-flood world. Covering the interior with pitch is also telling. Some woods are quite 'aromatic', especially cedar, and such outgassing in a large structure may be dangerous and thus the inside sealing.

I was curious about this mystical "gopher" wood.
It's a real doosey, ain't it?

Probably some tree that either went extinct, or God didn't recreate it after the Flood.

Looks English to me.

Um ... it's a tree, for crying out loud.

I sure hope the engineer who designed any ship I was going to travel in would have done the mathematics.

Math isn't required for this particular topic.

Apples and oranges comparison. The Wyoming was a ship built to carry cargo for profit, the ark was a 'floating warehouse' built to survive the flood. There is also no comparison between the water conditions acting on them. The Wyoming would be greatly affected by large waves where the ark floated so low in the water that such waves just rolled over the top of it. That's why there was only a very small window at the top of the ark. The Wyoming, like other ships, had to navigated often against waves and currents where the ark "went on" the flood, being carried along with, not against, those currents. I hope this helps.

Try reading the thread. Here was how the posts went:

How did they get there, if the Flood was in 2348 BC?

Answer: there was no Flood in 2348 BC, nor ever. Not that hard.

No Egyptian pyramids in 2348 BC.

Its cargo is totally irrelevant as to whether or not it would have leaked like a seive.

Being a "floating warehouse" does not magically allow it to overcome the physical and material limitations of wood. Nor does its cargo, whether it is "cargo for profit" or cargo of animals, magically allow it to overcome the physical and material limitations of wood.

Can you give a pig a pancake?
Stuff like this is why you don't understand how we think.

It's easier (and more fun) to ridicule than understand, isn't it?

The point of being built for 'profit' means that strength is compromised. The ark suffered no such limitations. You are conflating the limitations of wooden ships with a structure that bears no resemblance to a ship.

I have no idea what you're seeing.

Q: When was the Flood?
A: 2348 BC

Q: Evidence?
A: White cliffs and meandering rivers.

Q: Pyramids existed during the Flood.
A: Not according to the Bible.

Now ... take it from there.

I can't remember if I asked you this or not: but do you think Jesus Christ was on the Ark, like He was in the furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego?

"Leak like a sieve" isn't very technical. Don't you have some 'math' to support this contention?
