Here's a groovy video I found that talks about Noah's Ark, which happens to be my minor forté.

So I though I'd post it and then pick it apart over time; but not necessarily in chronological order.

The first thing I would like to point out is that Noah's Ark is not a boat, it is an ark.

A containment vessel.

Calling it a boat or a ship shows a disrespect for its true identity.

More later.

I do not make a habit of siding with atheists, but when they are right one has little choice, doesn't one?

You will have to do a lot better than quibble over terminology to win any converts to YEC.

I'm not going to play favorites here, as I think both sides are wrong in some points.

I understand.

Job 22:16

“Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:”
Yes, the flood story was part of the ancient Hebrew mythos.

Perhaps you should try to learn why we know that there never was a worldwide flood. There was a very severe local flood in the Tigris and Euphrates valleys that may have started the flood story, but at not point was mankind threatened by such a flood:

Mr. Nye points out the following four facts:
  1. a 500 foot boat
  2. 8 zookeepers
  3. 14,000 animals
  4. every plant under water
He then says: 'I ask us all, is that really reasonable?'

To which I say: "Absolutely not."

BUT ...

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

So for those men who say it wasn't possible, I applaud them for saying God did it.

The Hebrew redactors drown the whole earth in Noahs fictional flood for the sake of covering up the fact that they were unable to trace their bloodlines of supposed authority back to a much older Adam.

I think I might be looking elsewhere for an exegesis of Genesis. Maybe Gerhard Von Rad or Keil & Delitzsch, according to taste.

Both sides in these arguments and rebuttals and re-rebuttals are very often wrong.

Both sides are in error when they think that only facts are truth. Facts are not truth, they're facts.

These arguments are without direction or merit.

The problem is that sooner or later you have to say that "God lied" to support the flood story, and that would seem to be unacceptable to me.
