With how hard the Trumps have to scrape the barrel to find legal representation these days good is a bit generous of a description of what they have.

I have a friend that reads all these legal filings. The most recent one is 200+ pages. He said Trump's lawyers are trash in recent years because he is known to be a difficult client who doesn't always pay, but his accountants are top notch. He said had he not run for president, he never would have been caught. Michael Cohen basically helped bring most of this to light when he testified in front of congress.

Is that the same Michael Cohen who is serving time for perjury?

hmmmm…..

No, you're probably thinking of Avenatti.

Cohen served time back in 2018 for tax evasion and campaign finance violations. Who was the unindicted co-conspirator #1 in that case? You know, the one who got off scot free?

Though the trumps will attempt to scapegoat anyone else, they truly have no one to blame for their own actions but themselves. I do feel satisfaction in finally witnessing authorities hold trump's feet to the fire. Their decades of letting him off the hook has exacerbated his blatant criminality and created this danger to our fragile democracy.
Reuters reported the Trumps are being sued for bank fraud, insurance fraud, fabricating false accounting statements, etc.
Donald Trump and children are sued by New York attorney general for fraud

He does not seem to learn.

To be fair, spoiled children always push the limits to see how much they can get away with. Trump has never been reprimanded by his parents or anyone really. He never learned humility because he was never forced to learn. Trump truly seems separated from reality. I doubt he'll be our president again so I feel grateful for that.

He served time for perjury and fraud for crimes basically committed on behalf of Donald Trump, but he was released early in 2020 due to covid concerns.

Will this be the straw that finally breaks the camel's back as far as the GOP voters backing Trump? Time will tell.

Doubtful. They will also still continue to send this billionaire money. The craziest yet saddest thing I've seen this week is a thread on reddit of investors in truth social who are posting how they've lost 100's of thousands of dollars, 80% of their life savings etc, but were saying they were going to continue to hold on because they have faith in Donald.

It isn't often that a lawsuit is 280 pages long listing 237 acts of fraud, including some criminal that are being referred to the IRS and Southern District of NY, gleaned from the records of almost 30 buildings owned by the Trumps.
Let us not forget that about a year ago Trump's last appeal to keep his tax returns unavailable to the NY courts was denied, so obviously there is financial evidence backing up all 280 pages.
While we must wait for criminal prosecution to mete out justice to the former president, it is heartening to know that if he takes it to trial a civil jury doesn't have to issue a unanimous verdict for it to rule against him.
My adult children don't think Trump could ever be convicted of crimes in a jury trial because there would be bound to be at least one juror who would ignore the evidence, no matter how conclusive the evidence was. But a civil trial may help to heal a state whom he has defrauded and cheated for years.

She did make the promise to sue President Trump during her campaign. She also declared he was an illegitimate president.
Her political campaign was political?

lets see now how many times has Trump been convicted of a crime? NONE that must be very disappointing to those who have spent over six years not trying one thing after another to get him. Wow all that work, all those investigations, all that "obvious" evidence, all that money spent and NOTHING. Must be real disappointing to some people but I am certain they will just keep trying.

over 360 inquiries, investigations, legal actions in six years that averages 30 a year every year. Including Muellers 2 year 40 million dollar investigation involving 19 attorneys, 40 special agents, 1,000,000 pages of documents, 2,800 subpoenas.

and nothing. Zero, zippady do da.

yet he is still guilty in their eyes and they wonder why people just don’t believe them anymore.

It shows how the rich and powerful.can insulate themselves with teams of expensive lawyers and executive privilege and appointments of lackeys who do their bidding.
BTW, the $40 million investigation was "free" because it yielded $45 million in fines and penalties on Manafort.
