Writer's procrastination! I wander round in here mulling over ideas before my frustration levels implode. It would help if I didn't always end up with such antsy characters. They make me tired.

The way I had pictured the early stages of the plot was a bunch of puzzle pieces -- many small vigniettes, focusing on a day or an event in the lives of several of the different key characters before settling into a more narrative style. It was pretty easy to whiz through most of the vigniettes and birds-eye views into some of the events and situations that lead the characters to where they are in the story's present time. 6000 words in, I was finally ready to settle in and start writing the meat of the story.

It's going a lot slower now .

I just broke 4000 this afternoon, which, with classes and homework and all, I'm pretty proud of. I'm aiming for 5000 before I go to bed, and then another couple thousand tomorrow. I'm hoping to hit 10,000 by Saturday, though I don't know if it will happen. My goal is to be two days ahead by monday, since I have several tests over the next couple weeks, I need to make sure I don't fall behind.

just barely broke 10K today. I seriously doubt there'll be 5000 words out of me tomorrow. I feel like I need to regroup and think a little. A fly by night bit character strolled in this afternoon and stole the story. Probably because at that very moment I'd reluctantly concluded that my mightily thewed hero is a wuss.

I've managed the first 10,000 but what a load of tripe! I don't normally write this way & now all my characters are spiralling out of control. I don't think they like it either. I think I need to buy a paper shredder.

WOW!!! That's impressive! I hit about 7800 last night and am aiming for 10,000 today. I can pull 3,000 out a day if I have time. I've done it a coupel times now, but averaging 4k a day, that's crazy.

I lost over 2000 words somewhere. Bummer. Will have to really focus to make it up. So what am I doing in here? Good question.

I'm actually procrastinating by cleaning the house. How sad is that? Well, cleaning and wandering on the internet and watching old westerns.

I broke 5,000 last night though. Woot!! I'm hoping to pound out a couple thousand more, at the very least. Since I have the weekend off I'm hoping to definitely get past the 10k mark.

We shall see.

LOL, I'm doing the exact opposite--I'm using NaNo as an excuse to put off some work around the house.

I have 13309 words so far. Things are going a little better than expected--no major plot surprises, but the few that have popped up have been good ones, I think.

Yesterday was my lowest output so far. 250 words. Today, nada, but the night is young. I'm glad I poured it on last week -- I knew this week would be to busy for sustained writing sessions.

I broke 25K this weekend, but haven't been able to make much time so far this week. cat is up around 35K now. She's an ironwoman!

I'm sitting right on schedule, which is unfortunate, since just last weekend I was two days ahead. Oh well, I just need to keep pressing on, maybe I can get a bit ahead tomorrow and this weekend.

Time to go look at the dares page or something. Otherwise I'll have to kill off all my characters and start over. Unfortunately, I'm beginning to grow fond of my motely band of characters. Erg...
