You should look into it. I was going to participate last year, but I never got the chance to get started...life getting in the way and all.

I'm really going to try for this year though!! Even if I only get like a hundred words...*biting fingernails*

Woohoo!! I just updated my profile and all at nanowrimo.org, and I'm so excited!!

I have no plot, but darn it I have characters! Even if I just throw them together and see what happens...I will write this year!!

I have a plot and an outline, but darn it, I can't find my outline.

What genre is everyone thinking of writing? I'm leading toward action/drama, but it could go anywhere. I was thinking of trying sci-fi, but I fear it may be too technical for me.

Now I'm thinking religious mystery.

Amazingly I only have one exam in the formal Nov exam period (all others in last week of sem), so I Should have plenty of time to do nano. Hopefully I'll win it this time, it's my third try....

I will be doing NaNoWriMo this year. I've been meaning to do it for three years, but this is the first time I've actually signed up.

I will be doing a Mystery/Suspense novel.

Hey all, I just found this thread. I'm going for it this year. My planned story is SF. The plot keeps changing, and so do the characters, but I like the direction things are drifting.

Insanity, I know, but I've always wanted to try something totally insane in November...
I'm doing (I think) a medical mystery with a bit of religion in it...
But all may change as I haven't even got a plot yet.

I'm glad this thread is now in the open areas also. Two years ago I was doing Nano and wanted to interact with people here, but at the time all Nano threads were CO and there was no way to open them, and back then I was a non-theist.

Unfortunately the kick-off party in my area is at the same time as a Halloween party my friends are throwing. Still, I'm excited to get started. I've got so many ideas going through my head that I don't know which novel I want to write.

Why did it have to be in November? Where my projects are due? Where my essays are coming up? why not December? My holidays, therefore very free?

I've always wondered, why not February, when there's nothing else to do anyway. November's such a busy month for so many people.

I like that it's a month with a few days of holiday here and there. I plan to take a couple of vacation days too, so that I have a better chance of making it to 50K.

Somehow I got Nov. 1st off of work. I think it's 'cause Jesus loves me, but anyways...

I'm so excited. I should really figure my characters out though. Like what their names are.
