The Bible refers to israelites, not just the jewish tribe. The laws of moses were for them. The jews (tribe of judah) were only ONE tribe from the twelve tribes of israel, so you cant assume that jewish custom (mostly manmade ones) that you see now applied to ALL the israelites!!!!

I think many people are mistaken over who Jesus came for. YEs his lineage was tribe of Judah but he was also Israel. He was King of Israel AND Judah. Remember they split the kingdom. He was not recognised by many as Messiah in his lifetime though. Specifically HIS OWN family..i.e judah. The jews.

Lol, more if you want to be involved in sexual activity, consult a doctor. People do have sex outside of marriage (they shouldn't, but they do). If you're in a committed monogamous relationship there shouldn't have to be an more appointments besides your regular check ups.

And there is so much more about marriage than just sex. Majority of that the doctor will not help you with.

Because the jews only married amongst themselves...and thought of themselves as chosen, I think it was difficult for Jesus to think of marrying. I dont know.

Nowadays in terms of race and ethnicity, language and culture, people are less prejudiced. But I imagine people here still marry within their own culture. Question for marrieds...does culture really matter or is it if they are christian its all that matters. Or do they have to be,,the same denom the same socioeconomic group, the same schooling and education, the same cultural background, and language.

How do you navigate the differences. Does one spouse give up for the rest. I know my mum gave up her homeland for her husbands. Like Ruth did. But she didnt go as far in terms of worship cos my dad didnt have anyone to worship.

I get funny answers on here. Nevermind, its interesting. I dont think a doctor is that interested in peoples sex lives, but I suppose they have to be. I am looking at doctors in a new light now. In medical school i now imagine new doctors being told well you have to know all about it in case ppl ask you.

Generally speaking, yes people stay in there are own culture. You can marry outside of your culture and there's nothing wrong about it. It does however require very thorough communication between people and discovering how to do things your new way.

Ethnicity, schooling, socioeconomic, tend to matter much less than culture.

Faith is another big thing. Again, you can marry outside of your particular demonization's faith, but it is more work involved. You need to communicate with your spouse, understand each other's beliefs, how you'll raise any kids, communicate between in-laws, etc.

Some things you compromise on (like holiday traditions). You should not change your relationship with God for your relationship with man.

Sexual and reproductive health is a major part of medical school. There are entire courses on it. In practice some doctors deal this the more than others. An example of a deal-with-it-a-lot-doctor is an OBGYN. A cancer doctor will seldom deal with it.

Yes well, was talking with a newish mum about pregnancy and she said many obstetricians are men who hadnt ever gone through childbirth themSelves so she was thinking, how would they know what its really like?!

What holiday tradtions cause trouble for ppl? I would think people when they are married just choose whatver holidays they like to celebrate together. Dont know what the big deal would be....

And honestly, a doc doesn't have to have broken his hip to understand your broken hip hurts (or any other medical condition).

I think if youve made your own home, suposedly being married you will have your own home, you either stay there or just go somewhere else you both want to go on holiday. Unless one wants to stay behind and look after the house. So seperate holidays?! No fun.

People have different holiday traditions. For example, my family likes to decorate gingerbread houses. My husband's family does not.

I once had this high school friend whos parents were both doctors. She had no clue about marriage, seeing her parents worked all the time and didnt really give her the time of day really.

Again, in my case there were no female doc options. It's a downside of living in the middle of nowhere.
