Hey y'all

I wanted to bring everyone to the attention of the following sites of Greek Byzantine Chanting.

http://www.apostoliki-diakonia.gr/multimedia/english.htm
(from this site you can download them onto your computer and burn your own CDs)

Church of Greece Radio staion
http://www.ecclesia.gr/greek/ecclesiaradio/index.htm

Church of Greece (selected hymns)
http://www.ecclesia.gr/Multimedia/Audio_Index/audioindex_en.html

Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America
www.goarch.org
(under multimedia you can find several audio files in Greek and English)

There are several other sites which I will post as soon as I can find the web page addresses.

I hope everyone enjoys these pages.

Here is another site worth checking out..

Society of Musicians of Constantinople
http://www.cmkon.org/SoundClips.htm

The site is in Greek, but is filled with Real Audio files that will take you weeks to listen to all of them. Simply one of the most fantastic sites for Byzantine Chanting I have ever found on the web!

Enjoy

I love Byzantine chanting. It has a quality that is hard to describe.

There is some very nice western style music writing being done by Mark Bailey of Yale. As a western, Eastern Orthodox, I like his stuff.

Peace.

Peter

P.S. If I lived in Seattle, would I be a Northwest Eastern Orthodox? Or worse yet, if I lived in Columbia, would I be a Northwest South American Eastern Orthodox?
