This is true but no one is killing each other like blacks are. It's epidemic in the inner city. However, any individual can overcome prejudice by exposing themselves to a person of another culture. It's all about exposure conquering the fear. What I was talking about before was on a societal level.

I fully admit I haven't done a stitch of research, but I'm willing to bet that the higher the level of poverty in a community, the higher the level of crime, including violent crime, in that neighbourhood. So it's not about race, it's about poverty, and especially systemic generational poverty imo. And when you start out as a freed slave with absolutely nothing, and the laws of the land are designed to keep you in poverty, you start a long chain of systemic generational poverty.

Yes I agree, drilling into everyone's head that everyone is created equal...and a difference in phenotype doesn't make one inferior or superior. In addition, I think unrooting subsciusious bias and acknowledging it and pointing out why its wrong and why that thinking has to change is a great step as well. I think using cbt will help greatly.

I can tell you one thing that will set back race relations: Electing Donald Trump. He has based his campaign on divisiveness, and racial stereotyping. Electing him is no different than telling everyone who isn't white "You are NOT welcome! We want you GONE!"

I agree, I dont feel trump has *everyone's * best interest in mind... For one, immigrants aren't just Mexican some could be white or any other color...and I feel , if they aren't causing any trouble and trying to make an honest living...they need to be given a chance. If they're reckless and causing chaos then yeah they get the boot ... I just wonder why some people think America belongs to just one specific group when it doesn't, if you know your history you'll know what I mean. America is a melting pot and I love that about ameria...i can walk down the street...literally..and see Indians, Chinese ,Hispanic and black and everyone else and it amazing to be able to witness that. So I think if you're being productive and not causing trouble you shouldn't be mercilessly deported...the fact some come by boat or wade through neck high water just to get to America..means theyre trying to escape from a dark reality back home..and are hoping for a better future here in America. That hope, if filled with good intentions , shouldn't be crushed.

Right I agree, and I'm gonna get a little off topic...because what you said just reminded me of another thing I hear alot. When I hear men say, " which girl is prettier" or even women say , " which girl is prettier" or even when I myself am asked..which women is prettier than so and so... I just keep thinking... Why does it have to be a contest for women ( I know men get comparisons as well, but in this moment im focusing on women BC I hear this comparison alot) ...

When we look at flowers , we dont say this rose is prettier than a tulip or baby's breath...we can take in all kinds of flowers and just be in awe of their collective beauty..and I wonder why it cant be that way for women... Were all beautiful in our own way.... Same with men..of course that doesn't negate the fact people will be more attracted others..thats perfectly fine...but like I said, were all beautiful in our own way and no one should be put down BC they dont look as good as so and so..

Equality is what everyone is obviously crying from their soul, from whites concerning proper news coverage when it comes to black on white crimes..or just crimes period... To blacks with simple justice concerning white on black crimes ( these are just *some* of the things I heard) ...

However to do this it would require an unbiased mind...still a start would be nice.

• 92 per cent of Canadians believe the country is a good place for immigrants,
• 92 per cent of people think the country is a good place for ethnic minorities,
• 94 per cent of Canadians believe they have the freedom to choose the course of their life.

I live in Vancouver, and it is becoming increasingly rare to see a racially homogeneous group of kids playing together. IMO, the next generation of Canadians truly won't see race. Not as in "I don't see race so it's OK to be racist", but where skin colour matters as much as eye colour did to an older generation.

Are we perfect? No we have a long way to go imo, but we *are* working on it. How have we managed to do this? I'm not sure, but I can tell you it is very nice to live in peace and harmony, rather than the strife I see to the south. Perhaps it's out policy of Multi-Culturalism rather than Melting Pot?

The man has a compelling argument however I do disagree with some things. I have to admit, I don't have all the data at my fingertips but I think there are certain things we can all agree are true......

I would have a couple questions for this man like:

We all know that white people receive welfare as well as black people and it is even said that more overall dollars are spent on white Americans simply because of the larger population of white citizens. It is understood that a smaller percentage of white citizens receive welfare than blacks. Now knowing that there is a large amount of white citizens also receiving welfare, why is there not a comparable amount of violence in those white communities that are receiving welfare? Is there a comparable amount going to prison? Dropping out of school? Getting sick?

Somehow the cosmos need's to turn white to black (mild pun intended,) and make all alleged privileges, rights, treatments and special gifting minorities claim white people in America get available ONLY to minorities. Then at the same time, yank all of those privileges away from white people in America, and give them exactly the privileges and treatment minorities claim they receive in America. (Since the "universe" does this, it will be an actual reflection, not an exaggeration of either side.)

Then, let those groups live for half a generation in that stasis of privilege reversed, and slowly wane it back as a generation of minorities are born into alleged white privilege talked about.


If there is no empathy, understanding, change for the better, or conversation within the first MONTH, then any other feat is futility.

Love is the counter force that brings all things back into balance, there are "Black" people that have Love for others and they walk in it, and there are "White" people that have Love for others and they walk in it, but then there are those that want to create strife and hatred and contention for their own selfish, ambitious reasons, they have agendas.

Hate to burst your bubble about the end times coming and all, but see post #48. Race relations are very good in Canada. (Could still be better though.)

Regardless of what point of view makes you say these things, we have seen in micro situations that this makes things worse. White people are no less capable of empathy than black people. I was far less polarized as a child and a youth than now. It is experience with the very thing you are bothered about that changed my attitude. I still try to give people of a different race a chance to show there true nature (re: Dr.MLK,Jr.) but am disappointed more times than not. If you will see the videos posted above, you will see it is not my opinion or attitude that makes life difficult for black people. It is how they have been treated by the liberalpoliticians that garnered their misplaced trust.

Microcosm isn't the cosmos. As I told someone else, it has been done on a small scale for the other side.

The fact that people aren't lining up to do this speaks for itself. If it was really as equal, even privileged for minorities as the people say it is, they should want to jump on a swap chance.

That isn't the case, is it? Instead, I head excuses for why such an "experiment" hasn't worked even though minorities are on the open ended side of the opposite situation right now.

The issue today in america is simple. It is an entitled mentality. Like how the BLM movement feels entitled to reparations because of slavery.

I think the obvious privilege is just being able to live. I'm not saying white people dont have any problems from being bullied to born to abusive parents ( any and everyone can experience that and that is truly horrible) ... But in Society..well America..idk how other countries treat their people...

But life in America isn't too fair for minorities, from being followed around in a store to being shot by the police with out a real cause. I think people think ,being able to " say what's on your mind" is a privilege...and it really isn't...its just supposed to be one of the amendments for being American...and I dont think its a privilege to be racist if that what's on your mind...

But here are a few double standards, the black panthers , a supposed hate group ( which really wasn't, it was just for the betterment of black people in a racially tense time) was shut down...while the KKK is still active

Another comparison in recent news, I think alot of people have seen the Olympics and heard abt Lochte's fiasco, Vandalizing another countries gas station I think and then lying about out...while he got endorsements pulled, their was more of an effort made to protect him or his actions even going so far as to say he was a kid.... While black Olympian , Gabby Douglas was scrutinized for not putting her hand over her heart and athlete Colin for not standing during the anthem....

The double standard is that in this country black people come up under so much un needed scrutiny where as our counterparts aren't. When we mess up or even make the slightest mistake, like not putting your hand over your heart, youre ripped in two and demonized.

And one more comparison, when it comes to un just police shootings-- like philando castile's shooting...theres always more evidence needed ...but in recent news , with singer Chris Brown there was speculation that he pulled a gun on woman that was with him in his house, and she happened to be white, and not only was the event live streamed but they had choppers and helicopters at his home...and you dont know if this woman lies or not...they jumped the gun with no problem..

Theres no doubt white people can have problems or experience issues however I think its more individual rather than societal problems..

Yes america has a bad history in terms of race relations, I do not think anybody is denying that fact. I am not saying that america is the greatest country in the world. However, laws such as the equal pay act, equal housing act and such have made it Illegal to discriminate on race, color, sex, religion ect.
