I've discovered, over my many years of wandering through the crowds of people of all shapes, sizes, and colors, that if you simply treat people like people, you (usually) won't have any problems. Ignore the color of the outer shell of this person in front of you and treat them like you would any other person on the planet...

I was raised a po' li'l white boy in a black neighborhood.
Really. I was.
I didn't know I was "different" until about age 6,7,8 or something
in that range.
It didn't matter what "color" I was because all us po' folks
had was each other.
When dad wasn't in jail he was drunk.
Mom worked. The "colored folk" took care of us, fed, us,
put us to bed with their children.
When dad sobered up and got a job and became more responsible
we moved into the country side.
Dad HATED black people. Was he a racist?
Hell yes he was a racist! I thought that pretty awful considering
"people of color" raised us kids when he could or would not.
I befriended a black girl who had a withered leg from polio.
No one hears about polio these days.
I took a verbal whipping from the other white boys for even
being with her.

That's a very interesting and heart warming story, we should all be able to come together like this...however...side not.e..just refer to black people as. People of color or just black people..other than that great testimony

the rest of the world? As a Catholic/Christian I have come to understand (through incredibly difficult personal trials and tribulations) that the world can indeed be an extremely difficult, trying and dangerous place for Christians. BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE, WE SOLDIER ON!!!!

I was a security guard for a short time years ago. One of my favorite stations was at a bar mostly patronized by Mexican nationals not legally in the U.S.....trying to be politically correct, lol?
Anyway, I was literally the only white boy in the place and the only one carrying a gun in the open, no lol. I had NO problems! I carded the old ladies to make them giggle, and reminded the guys to take their fights out to the parking lot. Then I'd go over to the band and request 'La Bamba', and ask them to let them know it was the security guard that requested it. At the end of that, I would get a dozen people coming by and letting me know that if I had ANY problems, they would have my back. It was AWESOME!
We had one SIX-SEVEN American Indian guard that went in there, announcing to EVERYBODY that HE was the baddest S.O.B. in the place...half an hour later this LITTLE five foot nothing guy snuck up behind him and laid him out with a beer bottle! NOW who's bad?!
Anyway, I seem to remember hearing somewhere that we are to treat others as we want to be treated, and that golden rule IGNORES the color of our hides, lol!
HOW can you hate someone from across the street because of the color of the outer layer of his skin? Talk about ignorance! Get to know me, THEN hate me, lol!

I can tell you this, Jesus wouldn't do that. Sometimes Christians can be such a poor example of Christ..and I know first hand from personal experience. I honestly think god chooses those that are Christians currently because we are some of the worst people...not all of us..but you know what I mean and we need God more than anyone else and need to be fixed more than our neighbor.

Lolol the hardest s.o.b. Ha! Reminds me of some reality tv shows I used to watch lol...anywho, I agree with the latter portion of your post. Its impossible to hate someone you dont know unless you e been feed lies..but I'm glad they received you well.

What offends me are racial or derogatory terms... That's like saying ..just because someone is Asian...its okay to call them a g*** or a black person and call them a n****** no that's not true. Now what we all are are Gods children ...and that's true BC God is the truth,light and way...their is no guile or deceit in him..nor hate that he should be biased.
