1: Name: Patrick on both counts.
2: Jurisdiction: My home parish is ACROD, but when at uni up north I attend an OCA parish. When I'm overseas in Austria this school year, I'll be attending a Romanian parish. Complicated enough?
3: Status: Serious Inquirer, right on the edge of becoming a catechumen.
4: Miscellaneous: I'm a second-year college student majoring in German and Russian, I'm an internet+anime+video game otaku, I love martial arts (Hapkido, Taekwondo and Eskrima, with some Wing Chun, Aikido, Muay Thai and Bajiquan mixed in), and I'm trying to get in shape to start doing a bit of parkour.

I am a Reader in a very blessed Mission Church where we are under construction with a bigger Chapel, to move out from our Living Room Chapel - First Services coming mid-January... One of our faithful will become a novice at St. John the Forerunner Greek Women's Monastery in Goldendale, WA when she turns 18 this summer... I want to nail her feet to the Church floor, because she is a gifted singer in Byz Chant, but will reluctantly let her go...

So that sub-forums can set their own rules? That is a great benefit...

I have not yet received a response from the two enquiries I have made on exactly HOW to change my Faith designation...
I did not see Eastern Orthodox as one of the options when I registered...

Chatting is good, I think. This is an old thread. I never wrote anything since I figured I missed the gathering. I guess it depends on your settings, but I'm about to have five different years represented on one page, unless y'all do some chatting.

You might also like St Euphrosynos Taverna and Ouzeri down below. This thread probably doesn't get read much.

I mustered out in Oakland, and was driven south through the rolling hills of the Pacific Pallisades...
And I saw American children...
Clothed and happy...
Playing in their yards...
Green hills and trees...

And I wept all the way to San Diego...

My only ptsd were re-enlistment dreams -
In basic training by mistake and couldn't get out...
I had maybe ten of them across a few years after being discharged...

A fair number of ptsd'ers did wrong things in that war...

The Orthodox Faith normally takes them out of Communion for 3-5 years to recover...

I was not Orthodox - I was atheist in those years...
