Hey everyone. I am new here, and am soon to become a catechumen. I've been attending an Antiochian Orthodox parish. At first I journeyed to the church only out of curiosity. When I saw the interior with its many icons, its candles, and other art, the curiosity turned into fascination. I volunteered to help out at a festival the parish was hosting, where I had an opportunity to talk in-depth with the priest, and the rest is history. Many of my hours over the past couple of weeks have been spent studying (already read "The Faith" by Clark Carlton).
Carlton's stuff on Baptists was killer for me, as an ex-Baptist myself.
Hello, I'm a lost soul from the RCC strongly considering conversion. I've met with a GO priest and am doing some reading now.

1. Real first name or Nameday Name (this like everything is optional)
2. What jurisdiction your parish is in. (OCA, Greek, etc.)
3. Status: Cradle Orthodox, Convert, Catecumen, Serious Inquirer (by this we mean that you have started attending an Orthoodox Church and meeting with the Priest or someone they designate to teach you about the faith)
4. Any other interesting pits of information you want to share such as: marital status, children, pets, hobby's, church activies such as singing in the choir, etc.
Thanks.
1. Cristina
2. Romanian
3. Cradle Orthodox
4. I am married with 2 beautiful girls. I sing in the church choir (husband is the choir director). I love Saint Anthony's Monastery in Florence AZ and I wish I lived closer. I am a cradle Orthodox who has just recently begun to discover what a treasure I have grown up with.

I guess I should change my status, but I'm not sure what to change it to. I'm not a catechumen yet, but I'm serious about wanting to join. I don't officially have anyone set to mentor me (except my mentor that I have had since before I even considered Orthodoxy), so I'm confused. any advice? message me![]()
