It correct that you believe it, but I do not agree that your belief is correct.Correct... Christian, but not in The Church. (One who professes belief in Jesus Christ and rejects the devil and his Angels is a Christian.)
And yes it's the Nicence-Constantinopolitan Creed.
Forgive me...
That would be an interesting thread. You should start one.Which church then is the OTC?
The only Church is invisible global church of all true born-again believers in Jesus
No, even those men did not say their Creed was the Word of God, NOR did they tell us to put our Faith in their CREED! Their faith was in Jesus Christ, not their own Creeds. And likewise, MY Faith is in Christ Jesus, not in the Creeds of His servants.
You we KNOW that their Creed is NOT the Word of God because it says "I BELIEVE in the [Church]". God puts NO CONFIDENCE in men, and Jesus Christ put none of His trust in His Church. He entrusted Himself to God alone.
Psalm 118:8
Isaiah 2:22
Psalm 146:3
Jeremiah 17:5
If those men can make Creeds, so can I! Am I any less a Christian then they???
So here is MY Creed... "LET GOD BE TRUE AND EVERY MAN A LIAR!!!"
Just cause the Holy Spirit leads you doesn't give you authority over the word. Those who made the word as led by the Holy Spirit>those that simply put it together. The author of something and initial teacher of something >an editor. The apostles and their doctrine> anything we try to makeYeah... and The Holy Spirit leads you... but not them.
BTW ~ You lied to get in here.
Forgive me...
I'm curious to hear your view of your OP inquiry. Why? Because from reading posts here and other sites I am told the Orthodox are the One True Church (OTC); Yet hear the Roman Catholics claim the same.
Which church then is the OTC?
That is Protestant teaching all right.
Forgive me...
Jesus's teaching, to be correct.
Forgive me...
Well the NT indicates that the body is the church but also calls locations of worship where the body of Christ father for fellowship the church so it goes both ways tbhShow me where Christ said the Church was not visible.
Forgive me...
Interesting. I have seen these same verses applied time and time again from one Christian sect or another accusing other Christian sects of heresy. There truly is nothing new under the sun.Paul of Samosata found himself and his followers outside The Church.
Arius and his followers found themselves outside The Church.
Nestorius and his followers found themselves outside The Church.
Even scripture shows us heretics and that they were outside The Church...
Titus 3:9-11 (KJV) But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. A man that is an heretic, after the first and second admonition, reject, knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.
2 Peter 2:1-3 (KJV) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that brought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingerth not, and their damnation slumberth not.
1 Timothy 6:3-5 (KJV) If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
3 John 9-11 (KJV) I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the pre-eminence among them, receiveth us not. Wherefore if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doeth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church. Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
So much for not being called to judge.

Dogs are awesome!
Show me where Christ said the Church was not visible.
Forgive me...
Yeah... welcome to my ignore list. Here:
The difference being it was Jesus doing the judging there and not a mere man with a bone to pick about Protestants. How about the seven Churches in Revelation (everybody's favorite).
They thought they were in The Church as well.
Shedding them did not diminish The Church.
The difference being it was Jesus doing the judging there and not a mere man with a bone to pick about Protestants.

I am not impressed. My dad is a five tour retired Sergeant and has none of your nature. Neither do any of the retired military members we live around and gather with. You just appear to be an angry man who despises anything or anyone not in agreement with you. Blame your attitude on the military if you want but I can see right through that excuse. By the way why do you not post in the Eastern Orthodox forum. Are you a pariah there? Most of those who claim to be Eastern Orthodox are not anywhere near as inclined to the nasty disposition you have.I'm harsh. I know that. It's my nature to be a hawk and not a dove. I find many Saints who have shared the same. (I'm a two tour Sergeant of Marines.)
I hear you, and I agree. I guess my heart is more Catholic than anything, but it is thanks to Orthodoxy that I can now venerate and petition Mary, and the Saints. The Catholic Church may soon split, but if She does, many will go underground. God bless you, and thank you for lighting fires.
I understand now why you feel you need to put the same last sentence in every post. That mean old OUSA, biting back when bitten.
Forgive me...
