  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Nice idea. Congrats to everyone with recent anniversaries!

My dear wife and I just celebrated our 18th anniversary on this past feast of Sts Peter & Paul, June 29th. What a great feast day to be married. I of course had no idea this was the case when we got married as I was a Baptist by birth and my wife had left the Church all together. Ahh. God is great & merciful!

One of my hubby's favorite things is coming home to Middle Eastern night........put the pillows on the floor with rugs.........then serve up tabouli, hummus, dolmas, flatbread, olives,etc.......its so much fun, and relaxing too!

Oh my favorite food, :yum:. We hit the Lebanon Food Festival every year at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronrite Catholic Church, and go to the Lebanese Mass as well....we love it. I was alittle intimated about singing their beautiful hymns in Lebanese....but John jumped right in and did really well.

We were pretty up beat about it. We have been out here for about 15 years, and it's broke down about 5 times. The first time was the worst! But we were grateful this time for a few reasons. First, it was unusally cool day, so I didn't have to worry so much about my animals using more water than usual. Plus I didn't have to mist them every hour during the heat of the day.....so we were glad, that if it had to happen it was on that day....since we are heading thru the worst part of the summer. It had also rained alot the night before so we had plenty of rain water in bowls and a bucket I had left out.....it was just the amount I needed to fill the waters that was empty.

Second, it wasn't the pump itself, which is the $$$$ part....he just had to replace the capacitor with was under $20, and the pressure switch which was also under $20.

Third, I have just had the nagging feeling to start working on some projects to collect rainwater....just encase the well is down, we would have an emergency water supply for the animals and garden. Also to us as a supplemental water supply. So this really put the fire under my butt to get on it. ;) One nasty tornado, could leave us with out electricity to power the pump for days or weeks, so it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Fourth, in John's quest to find a capacitor locally or at least semi locally, he found an old man in Muenster that just retired. He and John talked for awhile ( they both are blessed the gift of gab) and John really enjoyed hearing about the man's craft of water well drilling and repair. He still has alot of parts left over, and told John he was sell him some, so we would have some back up parts...because they are really getting harder to find locally. So we are going to save up for a couple of months and get a spare pump and other parts. He told John not to wait to long though, because he was 80 and might not be around much longer. So John felt very blessed for getting to meet him, we both love elderly people dearly. But John felt really blessed to be there, because he could tell the old guy really wanted to talk about the old days with him.

So it all turned out well (pardon the pun), and felt God's helping hand along the way.

My dear wife is pleased today! She's been bugging me for a few years to clean the gutters and I always came up with an excuse not to get up there and blow those bad boys out. Well, today I finally broke down and took care of those nasty gutters. There were little trees growing in some parts. Man, she was right all along. Imagine that!

Will do.

I am currently searching for a pilgrimage to go on for March 25th 2010.

Let us know if you hear of anything please.

We wont to go to Jerusalem and Rome and preferably with a Priest.

My wife wants to go to Lourdes for her 50th birthday. Her mom was named Lourdes and her name is Maria Lourdes. Well, actually it's Mary Lou, but you can see how I lucked out by marrying a girl with such a cool name!

Real kwl Tad! :) Hope you guys get to go there on your 50th, what a way to celebrate your sacrament.

I am looking forward to going to Rome for the honeymoon. I think that is a perfect way to start our marriage off. I know a lot of couples choose to go to exotic islands, but I much rather go to a Holy Place, its just more fitting for us.
