  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Thanks a bunch David. The very first link has a combined Holy Land - Rome trip leaving three days after the wedding for 13 days! Perfect but expensive. I am torn between doing one or the other instead. There are so many to choose from. The tomb of St. James will be opened for his feast day next July too. So many options. I better stop procastinating at getting my passport renewed though. :)

Yikes, it is pricey....but seems worth it in the long run. ;) Since ya'll are both older and probably already have combined things needed to set up a household. Maybe ya'll could have a fund that people could gift to for the trip, instead of registering for toaster and such.

My marriage was blessed by Pope Paul VI. A priest friend of mine, had a friend in his order, going to Rome to have a private audience with the Pope. When the Pope came to him, he had our marriage certificate in his hand, and asked the Pope to bless it, which he did. Then, we ended up with the certificate of the blessing, but I'm not sure how that came about.

No wonder why you can share such beautiful memories and experiences with us about your marriage. It has an extra special blessing. :)

Thats one of the reasons why I feel so strong about going to a Holy place for the honeymoon. Extra special blessings for your life together.

Nothing like starting off the beginning of your marriage in a Holy place  as apposed to a tropical beach with half dressed people on it, making you stumble before you even begin your life together.:o

Good point Isa.

I want all the details when you get back. :)

BTW- I know I'll be on both your minds a lot during the honeymoon. You can console yourselves by taking lots of pics to show me when you get back. :D

I've always wanted to go to the Holy Land. :)

I agree. My wife and I are married 22 years. We met and were married here in the US but she is Italian and we went to Italy for our honeymoon. She got to see her extended family and we had a beautiful stay in Rome. A very special time for us.

you guys will love the holy land. I was born there and lived there until I was 11 yrs old. I live in the USA now. I have never been able to go back, but it is still my real home, and very beautiful in every way. the weather is great, the food is great and the people are very hospitable.

It is awsome to know I had walked in the same places that our Lord walked on. here is a virtual 3D tour of the church of the Holy Sepulcher Jerusalem Virtual Tours - Church of the Holy Sepulcher

UGH! How well I know. But natural doesn't = easy. Ok enough of that kind of talk, don't want to keep my mind going there.

Sooooo, What is the most admired thing you (and everyone else) love about your spouse? Or in my case fiancé.

Isa... I think you need to remember that the desire is coming from a very pure place. You two are two of the most God centered people on the board imo. It does not make it easy but in the longrun you'll be glad you both waited. I know though. I know. *hug*

Thing I most admire about hubby? He puts up with me. :o:holy::o

There are so many things I admire about Joab. But I think at the top of the list, is that no matter what he never judges me, and I can go to him with anything I have done that has been less than desirable, and I mean anything. I have a real problem with opening up (because of my past), and he has been so understanding and patient with me. And I have a lot of "issues". LOL, but don't we all.

You & I are a lot alike in that way. I'm the queen of baggage & I do not open up easily. That's what I mean by putting up with me. I was damaged goods & he loved me anyway.

Awe, that is so sweet (he loved you anyway). Yep a bunch of damaged goods we are.

I wish I knew how to multi quote on this darn thing, after all this time, I still have not got it right.
