You mean to tell me this topic has been overly discussed with most Christians.Yes there is. Most Christians--and, presumably those who debate the Bible with them--don't refer to Gen 3:15 cryptically as "The Seed."
Only to the lower of His creationInsofar as what is referenced in Genesis, species seems a better fit.
I do?It was honest innocence of a trick insider fundamentalist Protestant term for the Protevangelium--as you well know..
Now, shall I sneer at your lack of knowledge, or shall I explain to you that Gen 3:15 has been known as that since Irenaeus propounded the doctrine in the second century and is still so called by countless Traditional Christians who have never heard it referred to as "The Seed?"I do?
I’ve never heard the term until now
Each of those lower created things had the male and female counterpart created alongside one another.
Only when it came to man did God take from the one (man) to bring forth the other complimenting counterpart (woman)
There are more references to the seed than what is on genesis. Now, shall I sneer at your lack of knowledge, or shall I explain to you that Gen 3:15 has been known as that since Irenaeus propounded the doctrine in the second century and is still so called by countless Traditional Christians who have never heard it referred to as "The Seed?"
You're missing the point. You appear to sneer at those who have not heard of The Seed, which is not a mainstream reference in Christianity. Yet you have not heard of the Protevangelum which is a mainstream reference, and has been for > 1500 years, so should you be sneered at for that?Go ahead and sneer if that’s what you want to do
It’s okay with me.
I’m really not sure what that will accomplish.
It really will have no effect on me
There’s nothing that a man can do or say that will change my stance
I know what I know and I know who I learned from
Maybe this will make it clearer for you
There are two kingdoms and two sets of children
Children of the light
And children of the dark
In the end, it is GOD who will sort out the wheat from the tares, the sheep from the goats
Anyone involved in Christian debate has heard of The SeedYou're missing the point. You appear to sneer at those who have not heard of The Seed, which is not a mainstream reference in Christianity. There's nothing wrong with calling it by a different name; it does not imply ignorance of the concept, which is almost as old as Christianity itself.Go ahead and sneer if that’s what you want to do

While that may be true in the circles you move in, that does not make it true for everyone. The Seed is not a mainstream name. There are many on this forum involved in Christian debate" who have not come across the name. And don't you find it odd that you make this claim while being ignorant of the original Protevangelum, which is extremely well known inside and outside the Church?Anyone involved in Christian debate has heard of The Seed
