Ephesians Chapter 2 Verse 1 - 10
1And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

Ephesians Chapter 2 Verse 1 - 10
1And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
Verse 1: God has made you alive, - who were dead in your trespasses and sins -> As human beings we were dead and in trespasses and sins because of being spiritually dead; However because of Christ and what He had done. God has been reconciled back to the world because of the sins being paid for on the cross by the Lord Jesus Christ -> in which allows God to make us spiritually alive again being reborn when we come to the knowledge of the truth of the Gospel about His Son our Lord Jesus Christ about his coming, death, burial, and resurrection.

Verse 2: We were once walking according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, and the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.
3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.Side note: So in the time span you are living in now, you have been walking according to the course of this world by the rules of the land, who have authority over you, and by the spirit of (unbelief?) - (Doesn't talk about Satan here) - Spiritual blindness / darkness/ deadness ? - which now works on the Descendent of those who are willfully rejecting the truth that comes from the truth of the Gospel of Christ.
According to the age of this world <- Greek;
165 aiṓn (see also the cognate adjective, 166 /aiṓnios, "age-long") – properly, an age (era, "time-span"), characterized by a specific quality (type of existence).
Example: Christians today live in the newer age (165 /aiṓn) of the covenant – the time-period called the NT. It is characterized by Christ baptizing all believers in the Holy Spirit, i.e. engrafting all believers (OT, NT) into His mystical body (1 Cor 12:13) with all the marvelous privileges that go with that (Gal 3:23-25; 1 Pet 2:5,9).
Prince/Ruler: 758 árxōn (from 757 /árxō, "rule, take precedence") – properly, a preeminent ruler (chief); a commander with authority (influence) over people in a particular jurisdiction. Usage: a ruler, governor, leader, leading man; with the Jews, an official member (a member of the executive) of the assembly of elders.
Authority/Power:
1849 eksousía (from 1537 /ek, "out from," which intensifies 1510 /eimí, "to be, being as a right or privilege") – authority, conferred power; delegated empowerment ("authorization"), operating in a designated jurisdiction.
In the NT, 1849 /eksousía ("delegated power") refers to the authority God gives to His saints – authorizing them to act to the extent they are guided by faith (His revealed word).
Air: 109. aér Usage: air, the lower air we breathe.
Spirit:
4151 pneúma – properly, spirit (Spirit), wind, or breath. The most frequent meaning (translation) of 4151 (pneúma) in the NT is "spirit" ("Spirit"). Only the context however determines which sense(s) is meant.
[Any of the above renderings (spirit-Spirit, wind, breath) of 4151 (pneúma) is always theoretically possible (spirit, Spirit, wind, breath). But when the attributive adjective ("holy") is used, it always refers to the Holy Spirit. "Spirit" ("spirit") is by far the most common translation (application) of 4151 (pneúma).
The Hebrew counterpart (rûach) has the same range of meaning as 4151 (pneúma), i.e. it likewise can refer to spirit/Spirit, wind, or breath.]

5207 hyiós – properly, a son (by birth or adoption); (figuratively) anyone sharing the same nature as their Father. For the believer, becoming a son of God begins with being reborn (adopted) by the heavenly Father – through Christ (the work of the eternal Son). In the NT, 5207 /hyiós ("son") equally refers to female believers (Gal 3:28).

All these cognates focus on man's decision to reject God's offers of faith, i.e. refusal to be persuaded in their heart concerning obeying His will (Word).

Side Note: Thought those who now willfully rejecting the notions of the truth found in the Gospel, desire to instead focus on things on earth rather than place their mind on heavenly things.

A believer is created into a new being by Christ Jesus being made alive from their old ways of life and now have turned toward God and walk with Him instead of the old ways by the rules, and the powers of the world, and following those who willfully reject the truth of the Gospel. A believer will do good works because of their love for God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, though no one can boast about these works, because it has been by God's grace through the truth of the Gospel about Christ Jesus has been brought to them, and their faith is given by God as they hear the truth, and promises made.
