"I'm sorry, but I'm really bored," the juror said.
"I'm sorry?" the judge responded.
When the juror repeated his statement, he was admonished by the judge for having a "lousy" attitude.

Stupid is as Stupid dose

It wasnt the yawning, but the comments that got them in trouble.

Is he supposed to lie? Probably a lot of jurors are bored

Looks as though he apologized, and told the truth.
When the juror repeated his statement, he was admonished by the judge for having a "lousy" attitude.

And the judge was having a 'lousy' day. ;)

A good example of how a story can get twisted to support any of several different views. Turns out A) it was his follow-up attitude that got him fined, not the yawn, and B) the fine was only $100, in the end. Good thing they didn't publish the political party the juror belonged to-the other side would have a field day!

Flatulence fines should be progressive and based upon a combination of income and net worth.

It's not fair that rich people can afford to be flatulent all they want while poor people cannot.

Bill Gates makes thousands of dollars every hour of every day. He could sit in court for the rest of his life being flatulent and his net worth would still increase under the current system. A poor person might have to cut back on cans of Beanie Weenies after one fine.

In fact, we should pass an Earned Income Flatulence Credit so those who cannot pay the fine can be flatuent for free.

That's just stupid.

And the best bit is it wasn't even in a trial, but in JURY SELECTION! He wasn't actually hearing the facts of a case or anything, just waiting to be called up for questioning I imagine.
