Yeah, on it's face, it looks bad...really bad.

...but, in the interest of trying to be at least somewhat balanced on this and leaving my personal opinion aside, there are two different ways to look at it.

A) If an ex made up some nonsense story about me, and some rookie judge was naive enough to believe it, I wouldn't want to have to relinquish my property before I'd even had my day in court, much less convicted of anything...

B) In many (if not most) cases, restraining orders are more than justified, and if you're dealing with people who are unstable (and armed) to begin with, the very fact that they got hit with such an order is going to put a chip on their shoulder and likely cause some people to get hurt when they fly off the handle.
