The original claim, and it's still being used, is that not all the innocent people being killed are that innocent.

Innocence is binary -- either one is innocent, or they are not.

So the fact that children are ... a significant proportion of the death toll.

Rationally, doesn't matter. Would you give the IDF a pass if they bombed old age pensioners in assisted living complexes. Of course not.

What matters is whether or not those killed are innocent and targeted or are they innocent and their deaths both foreseen as disproportionate to the military advantage foreseen.

They cannot possibly be considered guilty in any way.

You still are not following the argument.

Common sense.
Ariel bombing may (or may not) accomplish the military objective. However, inflicting extensive collateral harm will push more non-combatants to pick up arms and resist. They most certainly will not blame Hamas as some have suggested here.

You posted a picture of a ten year old girl with a gun. And being innocent or guilty is binary? Well, that ten year old is either innocent, in which case you were posting her picture to show that children cannot be held accountable whatever the apparent circumstances. Or she is guilty and a valid target for a bullet.

We know you weren't considering the first option in any way. I'd rather not consider the thought processes involved in the second.

However, it, innocence, still is not binary, but on a sliding scale.

And I also now know that you looked the word up to check (and gee, you got an American dictionary!). So at least now you know what it means and why it was used.
