Very well. Following your logic, the converse must be true - if I tell only one truth, I am now a truthful person!DiamondsRedeemed1407 said:Have you ever told a lie? It only takes one lie to make a person a liar.
ok...when you fall away from God of course you can come back. but you have to want to. you cant come back because someone told you, you have to. no its doesnt work that way. you cant go along believing once your are saved your always saved either. that is such a wrong thing to say to someone. you make a choice to fall away from God. God doesnt let you go becaus he doesnt like you anymore or whatever. read my example:Once you are saved you are always saved, have faith...
God never ever lets you go, you let him go. He promises us 7,487 promises and if we break the covenant we made with by excepting him into our hearts...we are breaking our promise...and loosing Gods trust. not his promises.you go to church all the time, you talk the talk by saying "yes i am a christian, yea i 'read' my bible, i dont drink, and all that" but then when you go to scool or whatever you are a totally different person. that is hipocritical and that is a way to distance yourself from God.
why?well, to be truthful, coming to this site, and being here, has made me more convinced than ever that I don't want to be a Christian again. I'm even thinking about going pagan againSo if this proves your point, or doesn't prove your point, or whatever, good for you.
That Associate Pastor is a dingbat. The fact that you have remorse and concern for your salvation is proof that you never really renounced Christ at all. If anything you are like the Prodigal son who took his inheritance from his father and moved away to new land and party hardy. When the inheritance was finished he had to find work and was slopping pigs. He was so hungry he started eating the animal's food. He decided that he should go back and see if his father would hire him on to be a worker on his own farm.fragile one said:Hi, I'm new here.![]()
I was really moved by the new pastor's faith, so when the associate pastor of the church came to pray with Da, I asked him out in the hall if it were possible for someone who has strayed so badly from the Christian faith to come back. The associate pastor asked about what had happened to make me fade away from the church, so I told him everything. He asked me if I had truly renounced Jesus, and I said yes, at the time I had. He then told me that no, there was no way for me to come back to Christianity, and that I am damned with no hope at all. He gave me several bible verses. He said that since I had turned my back on God, God turned his back on me (2 Chronicles 15:2) and that I am damned because I had turned my back on my first faith (1 Timothy 5:12), and that I had committed the unpardonable sin and there is no hope of forgiveness for me at all (Mark 3:22-30).![]()
So, do you all think he was right? My heart has been really sad since I have been told these words.
Do you REALLY want to know?LilRitt04 said:why?
That's certainly a sad thing to hear. Perhaps you are hanging around the wrong Christians. Are we browbeating you with the word of God? The Gospel is a wonderful story and one I like to share, but sometimes it is used like the law to put people into submission of what they believe is God's will. This then isn't the Gospel, but the Law. Only the law can convict us of our sinful condition and the Gospel has the power of salvation for all who believe.fragile one said:Do you REALLY want to know?![]()
Let's just say...in general, the longer I am around Christians, the less I want to be one of them.
Sometimes the truth is sad.SLStrohkirch said:That's certainly a sad thing to hear.
I just think I'm hanging around Christians. Most of my christian interaction lately has been here, and it has not been pleasant. I honestly do not know why I am still hanging around here, to be truthful. I am called evil on a regular basis. So much for the Christian Love you always hear about but never see.Perhaps you are hanging around the wrong Christians.
SOME? Try most.Yeah you are going to meet some who seem hypocritical
Blah blah...I've heard it all before, it isn't doing anything for me this go-round either.and you just have to realize that they too are sinners just like you and they deserve the same punishment for those sins just like you. However, they know Yesh'ua because they are his sheep and he knows them because he is their Shepherd. Be patient with them because God's not finished with them yet.
Thanks, but I don't have PMs enabled. I learned my lesson pretty quickly about having PMs...if you have an opinion that goes against Christianity, you're likely to receive hate mail over it through PMs if you have them enabled. Thus, I do not.Bizzlebin Imperatoris said:Most? Most are liars. If you want to talk, send me a PM. I am one Christian who will definately not be unloving to you!
