Is there any going back once you've turned away from God?

No, I disagree! If you tell your parents that you hate them and wander away from them and don't call them and such do they stop being your parents? NO. You have some mending to do but they are still your parents just as much as God is still yours if you choose Him.

Yes Friend you're absolutely right. We are all prodigal sons we have all gone astray but God is always there waiting

Let me tell you my story and I hope it helps. I was a Christian approx 34 years ago and then I decided to "try the ways of the world out" for awhile. I was the most miserable human being when I was away from God. I wanted to return to God but the devil kept telling me that I would have to give up all the things I enjoyed. About the time I was determined that I was going to ask God to forgive me and return to Him, the devil had convinced me that I had commited the unpardonable sin. I was devastated!!! I would ask people (Christians) and they would try to reassure me that I had not. But I didn't believe them. I was convinced that I had! One day after working all night I came home and turned on the TV. There was a Minister on and I quickly went to switch the channel. I didn't want to be reminded of what I believed at the time was my eternal fate. But God wouldn't let me switch the channel! Do you know what that Minister was talking about? You quessed it. The unpardonable sin. I listened to that man and found out that the devil is a liar and that I had done no such thing. I cryed I was so happy and relieved!!!! God is awesome and I have never regretted coming back to Him. I love Him so much and He shows me over and over how much He loves me. I mess up and He picks me up. He is always by my side. The Word says that He will never leave or forsake me. When the devil whispers those lies into your heart you just quote the Word back to Him like Jesus did and He will flee from you. Don't let the devil deceive you. His time is short and he knows it! Run back into God's arms, He is waiting for you. Just talk to God about it and He will show you that you are STILL WELCOME!!!!! See you in Heaven because of God's grace that is where I'll be.
