Is the Earth Flat?

Well if they’re refusing to acknowledge the truth then they are promoting lies.

It has nothing to do with knowing God and knowing God is the only truth that truly matters, it is the only thing that will be left once God burns this place up.

2 Peter 3:10 ►
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
Everything man thinks he knows will be gone.
So the man who trusts in God but believes in flat earth, he will still be okay.
The man with the PHD making a huge salary each year who has turned his back on God will be heading for the lake of fire.

Matthew 6:19-21

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

That’s a figure of speech. People have been saying the sun comes up and goes down for centuries because that is the way it is viewed from our perspective and it’s easier to say than the earth rotated to when the sun was visible.

Joshua 10 is not a figure of speech, he, Joshua commanded the sun (and moon) to stop moving. the Bible states that the sun stopped and the moon.

So if the earth is flat why is it that as a ship sails off into the horizon why is it that the bottom of the ship can’t be seen but the top of it can still be seen? Why does it disappear from bottom to top?

The answer is seen every day, it is simple perspective. As objects advance away from a point they get smaller.

That is why, take a large lake or the ocean, why can objects not be seen at far distances unless the lake or ocean is absolutely calm and flat.

Because an object (bridge that is right above the water) that is say 10 miles away. A wave that is 100 yards from a person filming that may be two feet high. Will be larger that a bridge that is 10 miles away and more than likely cover or hide the bridge. If one was to take a camera and take a photo of the bridge 10 miles away the wave would cover up the far away bridge. It has nothing to do with a curving earth.

Unless the object is the sun or the moon, which magically remain the same size no matter how far away (in flat earth cosmology) they get. And when they have disappeared from view, no telescope in existence can pull them back into view.
Flat earth cosmology is complete and utter bunk.

It’s not just knowing who God is salvation is about abiding in Christ. Anyone who is promoting lies out of sheer stubbornness is not abiding in Christ.

A flat earth map is impossible to create. It can’t be done to scale because the earth is not flat. That’s why there’s no way to create a flat earth map that is accurately scaled.

That doesn’t explain the situation because as the ship continues sailing away the only part you will see is the very top. A 2 foot wave will not cover up a 50 foot tall ship especially if your elevated above the water. If I’m on the balcony of a building 50 feet high the bottom of the ship still goes out of sight first. 2 foot tall waves down below are not blocking anything. In order for the water to obstruct my view it must get between my eyes and the boat. If I’m elevated 50 feet above the water and I can only see the top half of a 50 foot tall ship that means that the waves between me and the ship have to be at least 25 feet tall. The boat is not getting smaller it’s about line of sight. As the boat goes over the curvature of the earth the line of sight of the bottom of the boat begins to be obstructed by the water until it eventually obstructs the entire ship starting from the bottom and working its way towards the top. You can use binoculars or a telescope and it doesn’t make any difference because the line of sight is being blocked.

They don't believe it to be lies, they believe it to be scripture.
Lying and a genuine belief based on scripture are two separate things.
To lie they would have to believe the earth is a sphere while setting out promoting it to be flat. This is not so, they genuinely believe it to be flat from scripture.

This one sentence by you, shows me i am wasting my time with you. If you believe that objects do not get smaller as they travel away from the observer. Then no wonder you believe in all these science lies.

Objects receding at the horizon lose form from the bottom to the top. An airplane vanishing above the horizon becomes a smaller--but whole--airplane. A ship at the horizon loses its hull, then its superstructure, then its masts.

Peoples visual sight is limited, i know science has people believing they can see for millions of miles, but that is not reality.

Objects (ships, cars, planes, etc..) are not going over a curve (unless they are on a hill) they are simply going out of a person's eye sight

No, that's called "aerial perspective" and it's caused seeing the object through more and more light-scattering dust and humidity in the air as you get farther away from the object. It's a totally different physical phenomenon with a totally different physical cause.

So you believe that there are real living people in the capsule (or whatever they call it) when it is falling from the sky. After landing the person in the window is awful still.

If you have trouble seeing and understanding perspective and how it works. Go get a pencil and paper and develop your visual skills.

Obviously your visual observation skills are lacking if you think you are looking at a moon that is 200,000+ miles away or a sun that is 93 million + away.

I really can not even began to have a serious discussion about observation, if you believe sciences distance numbers.

I learned about aerial perspective in art class in 1966. But you were trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes by claiming that it was "jus like" (sic) the effect of a ship disappearing on the horizon. You just didn't expect anyone to call you on it.

No, we don't have to even leave objects on the earth's surface to prove that the planet is spheroidal. As I said, the ancient Greeks proved it 2300 years ago...and the early Church believed it, too.
