Rick Santorum's father was an immigrant from Italy.

Did he ever become a US citizen?

If so, when?

The Constitution says our President must be a 'natural born citizen', and that means born to citizen parents. Both parents must be citizens.

A 'native born citizen' is one who was born in the US. Children of illegal immigrants are native born citizens. Would that child be eligible to be President?

Isn't it time to invoke the Constitutional requirement for Presidential candidates? And if need be, to clarify the definition of 'natural born citizen'.

If Santorum's father was not a citizen when Rick was born, wouldn't that make him ineligible for the Presidency?

And come to think of it, is Barack Obama eligible to be President? His father was in the US on a student visa.

We need to ask these questions and demand answers. We need a ruling on the subject of eligibility. And we need it now!

Thank you for throwing the birther argument back into the birthers' face. Of course they don't complain bout Santorum's father. The reason is that Santorum is of direct white European descent, and therefore American in their minds.

And for the record, any child who is entitled to US citizenship at birth is a natural American. That includes children born in the US or US territory (regardless of parents legal status,) children born to US diplomats while overseas, and children born to servicemen and women in a US military base hospital overseas.

For example, John McCain was born in a US military hospital in Panama. Where was the outrage about his qualifications to run for president?

Now you see if or what it really was, racially motivated. Of course they won't say anything about Santorum, but God(s) forbid Marco Rubio wants to run for president, you will have the white birthers coming out of the woodwork. Somehow I doubt this would ever be an issue if his parents had migrated from Italy.

LOL, Yes and is not a muslim ! : )

Obama is not a Muslim and, even if he were, there is no religious test for political office in the US.

If Santorum was born in the United States or on American soil overseas (military base, etc.), he is an American citizen. It's irrelevant where his father was born.

I'd vote for a can of mushroom soup if it were running against Obama : )

That makes two of us. ;)

 Boy, I wish people like you would have commented when the issue was about Obama and his eligibility.

If you want to see real world evidence why children are natural born citizens of their father's country, visit this youtube account: www.youtube.com/user/brihj#p/u
