In this country we don’t have kings that can do things unilaterally. They have to go through congress. We should be demanding more from Congress to act and put forth a comprehensive immigration bill for the president to sign into law.

Ibarra had been previously arrested by both federal and state officials in multiple jurisdictions. He had a bench warrant issued for his arrest in December 2023 after failing to appear in court in a shoplifting case in Georgia. Ibarra had previously worked for Doordash, Uber Eats and a local restaurant in NYC, where he was arrested in August for endangering the welfare of a child, after he was caught riding a gas-powered moped with an underage child on the back, without any head protection or restraint. The Laken Riley Act mandates federal detention of migrants who commit burglary or theft and allowed states to file suit against the federal government for failing to enforce immigration laws. Too little too late. Her murder should have NEVER happened...

Perhaps when his opponent takes responsibility for all his crimes...starting with the 91 he has been indicted for and the taxpayers of NY he defrauded and cheated for so many years, and perhaps ending with the people who died and became disabled from COVID as our cases topped the world due to his disregarding the scientists while refusing to wear a mask and promoting crank cures...

It's true, we don't have kings, but the idea that Presidents can't do things unilaterally is completely untrue. At this point in his presidency, Biden has signed 135 executive orders, which are unilateral actions. This is not unique to Biden. All presidents issue unilateral executive orders.

Could Biden do things to address problems with illegal immigration unilaterally? Sure he could. But then he couldn't politicize it and blame the Republicans.

We're in an election year. More than usual, the goal isn't to solve problems. The goal is to make your opponents look bad.
