An example of the LDS milk before meat theory:

Before becoming a member, you are told that there was a complete apostacy and the true church had to be restored through Joseph Smith. You are told about the wonderful emphasis on family life, that God wants marriage to last throughout eternity. After joining you hear how LDS have ridiculed the Triune God, and how Mormons can become gods themselves. You learn that the LDS gods were mere men at one time; they had to earn their godhood. You learn that the worthy spirits in the pre-existance came to LDS parents. You realize that LDS are no more worthy than any other people on earth; they just think they are. You find out how disgusting the temple ordinances are and have no basis in God's word. You find that the favorite scripture among LDS is the Book of Mormon. You realize the self-righteousness that exists among LDS. A self-righteousness that elevates LDS above anyone who smokes, or has an occasional cup of coffee. It's all about the church, the general authorites, and self. The church this and the church that. "Praise to the man who communed with Jehovah." Please---we go to church to worship and praise God, and you want us to sing praises to Joseph Smith? Invite people to church. Invite your Christian friends to church---because they only have Jesus, not the "restored gospel."

You discuss how to win people to Mormonism. Don't tell them what the leaders have said in the past. Don't tell them that god the father had sex with the virgin mary(another unofficial doctrine). If they ask you which god you worship, tell them you pray to the Father in Jesus' name. But before that half-truth, you were told that if you get in a tight spot and don't know the answer, bear your testimony: I know that the LDS church is true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that Gorden B. Whoever is a prophet of God today. Now the famous LDS cop-out is "That's not official doctrine." LDS doctrine doesn't line up with God's word. Ask too many questions, and the other LDS will eye you supiciously. "If you live it, God will strengthen your testimony," they say. In other words, "Shut up and keep working."

It's a sad state of affairs.
