its wrong and i know the Bible says to submit to authorities. but i don't feel i am convicted to stop. for one i am being ripped off by major corporations. my XP is pirated. so are most my applications and i the only cds i buy are trance cds which are all imports. use limewire and soul seeker to download entire albums.

Typical Democrat comment here. The big bad corporations are out to get all of us. We should do all that we can to tople them and steal all their products.

Are you really that ignorant that you don't see that corporations provide jobs and income for millions and millions of Americans? When you steal from a corporation, you are stealing from your neighbor.

I suggest you take an economics course, and then maybe become a productive member of society by actually providing goods and services instead of just stealing them.

Exactly. Not to mention it's the record company's fault for overpricing CD's in the first place. Statistically, it costs them 20% or less to make the CD's.

Have you heard what a 'salary' is before? Or did you really think that people are producing records out of the goodness of their heart?

It's theft plain and simple. I used to do it. Had a library of 1000+ illegally dl'd songs. Deleted them all and am slowly rebuilding my collection the legal way, over Itunes.

Amen, Micheal.

Exact same here, except money is pretty tight. I only buy the essentials now.

And actually, prices don't go up as the pirate rate goes up. Pirating would actually make the prices go down; to get people interested in buying a cd. You see this trend with anything you look into.

But the higher theft is, the lower sales are. The only person you are kidding is yourself.

I think the only way they are going to stop pirating over P2P is when they shut P2P down. However, this does not stop people over IRC, hacking into servers and getting it that way.

I think it should be up to the individual artists whether or not their songs can/cannot be shared. Moby stated on "Ride with Funkmaster Flex" that he doesn't care how people get his music, just as long as they listen to it, and they like it. Also, why do the RIAA's lawsuits have to be so expensive (up to $150,000 per song)?

I download my music from walmart.com ....its cheap at only 88 cents a song and legal. Come on people, lets download the right way ;)

Intetersting. I didn't know Walmart offered songs to be downloaded.

I personally do not download anything, even the legal way. If I'm going to pay for the music, I'd rather pay for the entire album complete with the album artwork and high quality sound.

But that's probablly because I prefer listening to an entire album as opposed to mixes.

Anyways, for those who steal their music by downloading illegally, your dignity is worth the 88 cents it costs to download that song at walmart.com.

Just because you can't see the face of the person you're stealing from doesn't mean you aren't doing it.

Wow, that sounds so familiar.

But yeah, downloading pirated songs or software is immoral.

No, I don't illegally download music. A few years ago, before it became publicised, I did. After a while, I quit out of fear of being sued. That and I now believe that it is stealing. Whether you can afford the music or not doesn't give you an excuse to steal.
